The Zasetskys' House

in WORLD OF XPILAR4 years ago

The Zasetskys' house is located in Vologda, located in the center of the city at the intersection of Leningradskaya St. and Pobedy Avenue. The Kremlin Garden is across the street. But the post will not be about the history of the house, not about who Zasetsky is, but about the artifacts found during the restoration of the house and about the architectural elements.

The house is wooden, has one floor and a mezzanine, columns, a balcony, carved platbands.

From the outside, it looks pretty good.

The building was built at the end of the 18th century, but later it was rebuilt several times.

At the end of last year, the house began to be restored.

The interior decoration suggests that the house belonged to a noble family.

By many elements of the interior, one can judge that in the Soviet years, as well as in the last years of operation, there were some office premises in the Zasetskys' house.

The old stoves are well preserved, which can be fired to this day.

The house was empty for just over eight years, until restorers took over.

The private investor, who undertook to finance the restoration, said that all interior elements will be restored to their original form.

I was very surprised when I saw such a good state of preservation of many architectural elements.

The house is considered one-story, but there is so much space on the mezzanine that it can be called a full-fledged second floor.

The balcony is a little uncomfortable due to the dilapidate of building, but the view from it was once simply gorgeous. Even now, the bell tower of St. Sophia Cathedral is visible through the tall trees of the Kremlin Garden.

Everywhere you look, there is something interesting in every corner!

Stairs.

Post-Soviet chandelier.

And how cool it will look when the house is restored!

A separate topic is the finds in the house.

The artifacts found in the Zasetskys' house belong to different eras. But they are all unique in their own way. One note on the wall is worth something!
"Dear visitors! Please remain quiet and vigilant! Remember, you are not alone! They hear you... They are everywhere!!! Only one thing will save you from them: record the silence and play it on at full volume. Well-wisher."

For me, not only ancient finds are valuable. Even a recent promotional poster might be interesting.

The bricks were produced in Denmark, according to expert historians.

Photo of Stalin.

Vodka.

There are a lot of stove elements.

There are also unexpected artifacts: a prosthetic leg.

A lot of work awaits the restorers.

By the way, the restoration process has already started.

Even in this state, the building can already be called a museum.

Someone's calligraphy notebook.

It is a pity that this subject is now abolished in schools. Everybody used to write beautifully!

Traveling through abandoned houses, I always pay attention to the calendars and posters hanging on the wall. They talk not only about the year, but also about the era.

And I would even take this masterpiece for myself...but I can't. This is already the private property of the owner of the house. I wonder if he will keep this poster or throw it away?

I am very glad that there are people who are not indifferent to history.

This is the first time that I myself learned about the restoration of a wooden house. Basically, they are preserved until...their complete autodestruction. Sometimes they are set on fire or simply demolished.

Sort:

This is the first time, I also see this kind of wooden house.
