Opoki. Waterfall

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 months ago

Well, how can you not visit the V-shaped gorge on the opposite bank of the Sukhona, which opens up to the gaze of a newly arrived tourist. But few people know that a surprise awaits there – a real waterfall!

And this place deserves attention no less than the fountain.

And maybe even more: the gorge and waterfall were created by nature itself, and the fountain is man-made...

And by the way, it's very dangerous here!

There are no bricks underfoot, like at the village Threshold, but real concrete blocks!

And it's all falling from a great height.

I saw it myself during the last trip (and even captured it) as a pile of rock crumbled from above almost at the very gorge.

Fortunately, this time only small stones sometimes "ran" along the layered wall.

Sometimes the landscape around you looks alien.

It's like some kind of Grand Canyon!

This is the best place in Opoki.

Some cobblestones are on the verge of falling.

And many have been resting below for a long time, although they were once also part of a large wall.

And now a little philosophy!

Here, they say that these shores are millions of years old.

And they also say that time has accelerated now in the last ten to fifteen years.

And what if these shores are not a million, but ten times less?

Maybe time flowed even faster then, and then slowed down?

It seems to me that time is plastic and I question the conclusions of scientists regarding the age of rocks based on some kind of spectral analyses.

I've seen a small stream in a couple of years make ditches in such a rock with a depth of half a meter!

I also saw the Google Earth timelapse, how rivers change their course and how the landscape around them changes.

It doesn't take millions of years, just hundreds...

I even want to install a fixed camera with a view of the shore somewhere in such a place and watch how it changes over the years.

...It's not my first time here...the second one.

They will transport you here by boat for $1.5.

The water in the river is very warm, I already wanted to swim.

But there was no time for that.

We urgently need to process and send photos for the exhibition.

And according to tradition, the first picture of the post is from that very exhibition.

Who would have thought that a couple of weeks after my visit here, I would find myself here again...
