Dugouts in Chekshino. Location 1
When the weather provides the most favorable conditions for night shooting – a starry frosty night and the setting of the moon – then you need to go to a favorable place from the point of view of the plot. There are many dugouts in Chekshino and all are triangular – what could be better?
It is quiet here, as in many remote villages of the Vologda region.
In winter, in deep snow, snowmobile tracks that I walked on here always help out.
Otherwise, I would have to crawl waist-deep in snow.
There are no abandoned dugouts here – everything is used for its intended purpose.
The starry sky adds mystique to the picture. I have shot many times in cloudy weather and without any artificial light source it turns out that I shot during the day in cloudy weather.
The starry sky is darker than all objects located below the horizon, so they stand out due to snow.
About a hundred meters away is the Shorega River bank.
There are about thirty structures in this dugout "town".
While the frame was being exposed, I admired the waxing crescent setting over the horizon.
If you turn around in the opposite direction, the light will become completely different – street lights create a completely different atmosphere.
I specially "save" a trip to many places, I postpone it for the best time (spring, stars), but sometimes I also go when such an opportunity just appears.
To be continued...
These photos are wonderful. They look like they were taken during sunrise, right?
No, it's moonset
