| Гостиница Ленинградская – одна из сталинских высоток, построенных как символы величия социалистического строя. Ленинградская – самая низкая из этой серии московских небоскребов. Её шпиль достигает 136 м. Но это первая сталинская высотка, которую видят в Москве приезжие сразу трех московских вокзалов: Ленинградского, Казанского и Ярославского. Именно с Комсомольской площади – площади трех вокзалов – я сделала эту фотографию. | The Leningradskaya Hotel is one of the Stalinist high-rise buildings built as symbols of the greatness of the socialist system. Leningradskaya is the lowest of this series of Moscow skyscrapers. Its spire reaches 136 m. But this is the first Stalinist high-rise building that visitors to Moscow see at once from three Moscow stations: Leningradsky, Kazansky and Yaroslavsky. It was from Komsomolskaya Square - the square of three train stations - that I took this photo. |
| Мы с подругой 4 ноября 2023 года приехали в гостиницу Ленинградская на экскурсию. Экскурсия проходила в театрализованной форме. Мы узнали, что архитекторы Леонид Михайлович Поляков и Александр Борисович Борецкий, награжденные Сталинской премией, создавшие роскошные интерьеры, после смерти Сталина и смены парадигмы в архитектуре, впали в немилость. Сталинской премии их лишили, а Ленинградскую приводили, как основной пример излишеств в архитектуре и неоправданных расходов. Ведь, при должной экономии на эти средства можно было бы выстроить гостиницу на 1000 номеров, тогда как в Ленинградской их было 374. | On November 4, 2023, my friend and I arrived at the Leningradskaya Hotel for an excursion. The excursion took place in a theatrical form. We learned that the architects Leonid Mikhailovich Polyakov and Alexander Borisovich Boretsky, awarded the Stalin Prize, who created luxurious interiors, fell out of favor after the death of Stalin and the paradigm shift in architecture. They were deprived of the Stalin Prize, and the Leningradskaya Hotel was cited as the main example of excesses in architecture and unjustified expenses. After all, with proper savings on these funds, it would be possible to build a hotel with 1000 rooms, while in Leningradskaya there were 374. |
| В 2000-е годы гостиницу приватизировали, реконструировали, номеров стало ещё меньше. Сейчас она работает под названием Хилтон Москва Ленинградская. | In the 2000s, the hotel was privatized and reconstructed, and the number of rooms became even smaller. Now it operates under the name Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya. |
