В центре города стоит впечатляющий памятник, посвященный погибшим за веру в 20-е годы 20 века. | I visited Shuya during a trip during the New Year holidays at the beginning of 2023. In the center of the city there is an impressive monument dedicated to those who died for their faith in the 20s of the 20th century. |

| В 1922 году после гражданской войны в стране был голод. Власти начали изымать церковные ценности в целях их продажи и закупки продовольствия. В Шуе священники отказались выдавать ценности из Воскресенского собора. Множество верующих горожан поддержали их, и вышли защищать церковь. Для подавления бунта были присланы военные, открывшие огонь по толпе 15 марта 1922 года. | In 1922, after the civil war, there was a famine in the country. The authorities began to confiscate church valuables for the purpose of selling them and purchasing food. In Shuya, priests refused to hand over valuables from the Resurrection Cathedral. Many believing townspeople supported them and came out to defend the church. The military was sent to quell the riot and opened fire on the crowd on March 15, 1922. |
