| Провал – сероводородное озеро в Пятигорске, находящееся на склоне горы Машук. К нему вел широкий колодец. Когда озеро стало местом развлечения, туристов спускали к нему в больших корзинах с построенных наверху мостков. | Proval is a hydrogen sulfide lake in Pyatigorsk, located on the slope of Mount Mashuk. A wide well led to it. When the lake became a place of entertainment, tourists were lowered to it in large baskets from bridges built on top. |
| В 1858г. к озеру пробили туннель, и теперь все желающие могли спокойно подойти к этой природной достопримечательности. | In 1858 a tunnel was pierced to the lake, and now everyone could safely approach this natural attraction. |
| Именно по этому туннелю и сегодня многочисленные туристы подходят к Провалу. Я побывала там в сентябре 2022. На фотографии – туннель, снятый от озера в сторону выхода. | It is through this tunnel that many tourists approach the Proval today. I visited there in September 2022. The photo shows a tunnel taken from the lake towards the exit. |
