| Когда-то в детстве я очень часто ездила на поезде. Каждое лето мама отвозила на поезде нас с братом к бабушке. В дороге мы ехали всего лишь ночь. Иногда мы выбирались на юг. Тогда мы ехали больше суток. Мы с братом занимали каждый по верхней полке, валялись и смотрели в окно. | Once upon a time as a child, I traveled by train very often. Every summer, my mother took my brother and me by train to my grandmother. We were only on the road overnight. Sometimes we went south and we drove for more than a day. My brother and I each occupied the top shelfs, lay around and looked out the window. |
| И спать в поезде было хорошо под равномерное покачивание и стук колес. | And it was good to sleep on the train with the steady rocking and clatter of the wheels. |
| И, конечно, как только поезд трогался, мы все рассаживались у столика. Проводница приносила чай в стаканах с подстаканниками. У него был какой-то особенный вкус. Металлические подстаканники - вещь красивая и, для меня, ставшая символом поездки на поезде. Потому что больше практически нигде мы не пили чай из такой посуды. Только в поездах. | And, of course, as soon as the train started moving, we all sat down at the table. The conductor brought tea in glasses with cup holders. It had some special taste. Metal cup holders are a beautiful thing and for me they have become a symbol of a train ride. Because almost nowhere else have we drank tea from such containers. Only on trains. |
| Став взрослой, я довольно долгий период путешествовала самолётом, автобусом, машиной. Ночные поезда остались в детстве. А вот в последние годы мы с друзьями стали путешествовать и в поездах. Как классно, что там по-прежнему остались подстаканники! Каждый раз я радуюсь, глядя на них, и на мгновение возвращаюсь в детство. | As an adult, I traveled for quite a long time by plane, bus, and car. Night trains are a thing I remember in my childhood. But in recent years, my friends and I began to travel on trains. How cool that there are still cup holders there! Every time I look at them, I am happy and for a moment I go back to childhood. |

| А вот культура обедов и ужинов в поездах, когда в обязательном порядке доставали из сумок припасенные в дорогу продукты, уже утрачивается. Мама всегда подготавливала для путешествия вареную курицу, яйца вкрутую, помидоры, огурцы, хлеб и колбасу. Напомню: нам ехать всего одну ночь надо было. А ещё на платформах, у которых поезд делал короткие остановки, обязательно местные бабушки приносили на продажу к поезду что-то горячее, приготовленное своими руками. Горячую картошку, пирожки… | But the culture of lunch and dinner on trains, when it was mandatory to take out the food stored for the journey from bags, is already being lost. Mom always prepared boiled chicken, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, bread and sausage for the trip. Let me remind you: we only had to travel one night. And on the platforms where the train made short stops, local grandmothers always brought something hot, prepared with their own hands, to the train for sale. Hot potatoes, pies... |

Шикарные подстаканники!!!
Я в детстве обожала путешествовать на поезде. Особенно нравилось на верхней боковой полке, как ни странно. Я отворачивалась от прохода, и смотрела в окно, оно же было огромным. Фотоаппарата у меня не было. Я вела свои первые путевые заметки, зарисовывала что вижу. Увы, эти письма (я отправляла родителям со станций) потерялись где-то. А самолетов я боялась, к тому же меня в них жутко тошнило.
Какая ты творческая с детства!
Ужасно жаль, что письма затерялись. :(
