| Недавно мы с друзьями совершили небольшое путешествие в Тверь и вокруг неё. Один из дней мы посвятили маленькому, но очень живописному городу Старица. Начали знакомство с городом мы со в Свято-Успенского монастыря. | Recently, my friends and I made a short trip to Tver and around it. We devoted one of the days to the small but very picturesque town of Staritsa. We began our acquaintance with the city from the Holy Dormition Monastery. |
| Монастырь древний, красивый и очень интересный. Согласно преданию монастырь основан в 1110 году. | The monastery is ancient, beautiful and very interesting. According to legend, the monastery was founded in 1110. |
| Есть там и впечатляющее подземелье под Введенским храмом. | There is also an impressive dungeon under the Vvedensky Temple. |
| Спустившись по старой каменной лестнице, мы оказались в небольшом помещении, где на полочках были аккуратно сложены кости и черепа. | Going down the old stone stairs, we found ourselves in a small room where bones and skulls were neatly stacked on the shelves. |
| В православных монастырях я такое встречаю впервые. Первую костницу я увидела в Чехии около города Кутна Гора. Но там было уж совсем странно: останки были не только сложены штабелями, но и интерьер церкви был выполнен из костей (светильники, украшения). Здесь же всё лаконично, с уважением к почившим. | In Orthodox monasteries, I meet this for the first time. I saw the first Ossuary with bones in the Czech Republic near the city of Kutna Hora. But it was quite strange there: the remains were not only stacked, but the interior of the church was made of bones (lamps, decorations). Here everything is concise, with respect for the deceased. |

| «Монастырский погост на начало реставрации был сильно разрушен и разграблен. Зачастую кости погребенных и покоившихся здесь веками людей в течение многих лет лежали под открытым небом, перемешанные с мусором и обломками надгробных плит. В период реставрационных работ бережно и тщательно, слой за слоем разбирался «культурный слой», возникший в XX-ом веке на погосте. В ходе этой работы были обнаружены останки нескольких десятков человек, похороненных в XVIII-XIX веках. По свидетельству историков-краеведов на монастырском погосте нашли упокоение и братия монастыря и жители города Старицы и представители разных сословий. По православной традиции, существующей не только на Афоне, но и в египетских (святой Екатерины на Синае) и в палестинских (в лавре Саввы Освященного), а также во многих других православных монастырях (в том числе и российских), останки усопших были погребены в костнице. Костница устроена в подклете под Введенским храмом. Здесь установлена икона Господа Вседержителя, по обе стороны от которой вдоль стен на деревянных полках покоятся кости наших давних и не столь давних предков…» | “At the beginning of the restoration, the monastery churchyard was badly destroyed and plundered. Often, the bones of people buried and resting here for centuries lay in the open air for many years, mixed with debris and fragments of tombstones. А Вы в Муроме не были? Там в Спасо-Преображенском монастыре тоже костница есть, только не в подвале, а отдельно стоящая. Она так и называется часовня-костница.
Ой, точно! Была же, видела, но не вспомнилось.Там зоопарк с курочками в топе моих впечатлений. :D
Сейчас посмотрела фотографии, там как-то более закрыто сделано. Другое немного впечатление.
