The photograph is of the Legislative Palace, headquarters of the National Congress of Argentina (Buenos Aires)

The construction of this palace, headquarters of the National Congress, began in 1898, according to the design of the architect Víctor Meano. The sculptor Jules Dormal (one of the builders of the Teatro Colón, together with Meano) completed the work, respecting the original project. The building was inaugurated in 1906, but it would not be finished until 40 years later. Its dome, 80 meters high, is one of the largest in the City. The style corresponds to the high Italian academicism of the late 19th century. The building is entirely clad in gray limestone, with a granite base.

On December 28, 1993, Decree 2676 of the National Executive Power declared the Palace of Congress a "National Historic and Artistic Monument."
