The human body: "quick drawings"

in WORLD OF XPILAR4 years ago (edited)

Hello again! it's a pleasure to have been received in this community, thank you! I continue to share with you the series of drawings that I have called "The human body", which is nothing more than an analytical study of the nude of the human body approached as a graphic theme and for reflection. But not all the content of this series will be finished graphic works, there will also be "quick drawings", which are those lines dedicated mostly to the training of the ability to observe and represent that which is visualized either in the tangible reality or in the plane of imagination, that is to say, to draw.

Today's drawing is a quick one, it's one of the last ones I made and it's part of my routine analytical studies in the drawing, is made with pen on paper, the technique is irregular and semi-regular weaving, or like me I prefer to call it "loose plot". Here I represented a fragment of Michelangelo's "the creation of Adam", painted in the Sistine Chapel in approximately 1511, this scene represents one of the nine episodes of Genesis, in the as God gives life to Adam.

Who hasn't seen this painting? It is both imposing and inspiring, and as I mentioned in my previous post, a Artwork is perceived in different ways from one person to another, each one bringing out their own considerations to each of the situations shown by the artists. In particular, what I like most about this masterpiece of the Renaissance period, is the hand of God touching just with the tip of his index finger the tip of the index finger of Adam's hand, only the tip of his finger to God was enough to give life to man, so shows the master through his brushstrokes. A composition so clean and defined that in itself, it has become a symbol in the meaning of art throughout history. from the right descending and almost at the same height, but above it, the hand of God extended in a calm but firm manner, even expresses benevolence, from the left the hand of Adam waiting and receiving the divine touch.

There is no doubt that the skill and mastery shown by Michelangelo in this fresco is worthy of use as an object of study and reference when practicing and developing our drawing skills. This was the first rapid drawing in this series of drawings and reflections on the human body as a subject for the study of analytical drawing. I will talk to you later about more of this artistic resource. Well, friends, thank you for your reading! I hope to be here again soon. I look forward to seeing you!
