The cactus problem

I,ve got a big problem. The cactus (Sara presented me) continues to dry. Ben says cacti do not require watering. He believes that if it requires care, then this is not a cactus but shit. Sarah says cactus can be watered once a week. Do any of you have any experience with cacti?
