Watching movies is one of the activities that I have done for the past few days to get rid of boredom during this pandemic. There are no activities outside the home, I can only enjoy a few movies that I have watched on PC memory. And there is Life of Pi, a 2O12 film that really impresses me every time I watch it. This is my 7th time watching the film. And it's never bored, have you watched it? What if we both review it here, interesting isn't it?

The film Life of Pi is an adventure film directed by Ang Lee. Life of Pi was filmed based on a novel by Yann Martel with the same title.

The film Life of Pi, released in 2012, is an adventure film of a man named Pi who is stranded in the middle of the ocean with a tiger in his shovel. This film is not just about survival in the middle of the ocean but is an extraordinary story that can make the audience so amazed. In it, unusual conflicts are hidden; so neatly built.

The film stars Indian actor Suraj Sharma, who plays the role of a teenage Pi who spends most of the scenes in the film. The film begins when adult Pi (Irrfan Khan) retells the story of his youth to a writer (Rafe Spall) who is visiting his house.

Pi is told as a child born in India and spent his little time in a zoo built by his father. Pi was born Piscine Molitor Patel, a name taken from a swimming pool called Piscine Molitor.

I have also heard that in the novel Life of Pi flies religious sides. Maybe it's not flicking anymore, but it has touched almost all of it, because the theme of the novel itself is about that, only with the media Pi's story earlier.

I, too, don't yet know where in the future there will be religious aspects to be highlighted, and maybe, it will invite controversy because the theme is sensitive.

I was totally wrong about that. This film (with the novel, of course), is really smart! He did show that sensitive side, but the way he was really smart and different from the mainstream films with the same theme.

Yes, by using the perspective of a child who is still innocent, Life of Pi can convey it differently, and of course without the need for massive controversy. Taking India's setting which is rich in religion,

Pi lived his 'unstable' childhood on a unique spiritual journey. By 'exploring' one religion to another, little Pi tries to get to know God closely. A sweet and innocent way, even though on the one hand, it's strange.

Pi's story begins with the plan to move his family to Canada. Pi's father sold their own zoo while still taking their animals to sail to Canada.

On the way, the ship that was boarded by the Pi family was suddenly attacked by a storm, which made it sink.

Pi's struggle in the middle of the ocean begins. He realized to be the only survivor of the sinking ship. Pi sits with a Zebra, Orang Utan, Hyena, and Tiger in his boat.

That is why I say this film as an unusual survival story. Just imagine floating in the ocean with wild animals. Pi was well aware that tigers remained as large as wild animals despite being raised in a zoo, so he made his own defense by making a special place for himself at sea by stacking buoys and tying them to lifeboats. While the tiger was in the lifeboat, Pi chose to be in the ocean, above his buoy. Time after time they passed. But not seen land.

When you are stranded in the middle of the ocean with a tiger, this is God's trial

From there, the story became even more interesting, although most of the background in the film was the vast ocean and Pi's lifeboats, but this did not bore me at all.

Time was rolling, and I was increasingly overcome with curiosity about Pi's fate in the end. Could he be safe ?!

For that reason, my eyes did not escape the screen, closely following Pi's slick adventure in the middle of the ocean. How about the ending? Well, so awesome. Many lessons can be learned after watching this film.

The advantages of this film are the excellent visual effects and stunning natural panorama. Meanwhile, many lessons can be drawn from this adventure story. While the drawback, in my opinion, is that the flow is a little slow to the point, the time spent opening seems too long so it will be boring at the beginning of the story.

Life of Pi is a film with a mainstream theme that tells an anti-mainstream way. Ang Lee and his friends are able to present the emotional essence that is there without losing any essence of his novel and provide you with a powerful cinematic and visual experience.

Without the need for a full line of very popular actors (except Irrfan Khan), Life of Pi turned out to be able to present an excellent performance from his cast.

The biggest credit goes to Suraj Sharma who succeeded in reviving the character of Pi as well as possible, as well as Richard Parker and Irrfan Khan.

Whatever you want to believe or not, what is clear is that Life of Pi has succeeded in bringing to life the theme of God's existence without patronizing those present in unique and original ways.

Supported by great visual effects and 3D technology, Life of Pi has successfully become one of the best films of the decade. An unbelievable rare masterpiece, which not only appears once in a few years, but may also only appear just this once, and will never be there again. That all might be in my opinion after watching this movie.
