The Walking ๐ฟ #club100
Hi Steemians ๐โโ๏ธ
There is no doubt that a walk in the open air is very good for the mood ๐ Fresh air is refreshing. I prefer to walk as far away from the houses as possible, among the trees and the sound of birds. Unfortunately, this is not always possible. If I'm alone on a walk, it's my thoughts accompanying my walk. Thoughts can often be more tiring than walking ๐
Have you heard of "A philosophy of walking" by Frederic Gros? I would like to quote the following from that book that I was very impressed with. "Walking leads to assimilation. We walk without stopping, its majesty permeating our skin when we are across a mountain, breathing the shape of the hills for hours as we slowly descend. The body is infused in the soil it tramples. And so it gradually ceases to be in the landscape and becomes the landscape itself."
Another thought-provoking sentence is: "Walking is perfect simplicity. What needs to be done is to get rid of everything that blocks, confuses and hinders the way."
We must learn to block negative thoughts, those who lower our energy, whatever hinders our progress and relaxation.
It is quite relaxing to take a break at the wooden fences and take a breather while walking on the path.
I admire this sentence: Enjoy the little things!
A beautiful view is relaxing. Drinking water is relaxing. Listening to the birds, seeing a little bell, it's all heartwarming.
When we overlook the things that are small but make us happy, it can be difficult to catch them again. On the contrary, when we discover those little joys, we will feel peaceful and energized. It really works.
I like to eat fruit on the walk. Since I don't usually do a brisk sports walk, eating fruit is not a problem ๐
The fruit chosen according to the season was a mandarin. With the energy of the fruit, I can increase my walking time and feel more energetic.
I think fruit even reflects its sweetness in thoughts ๐
I ran down hills, climbed hills, laughed, got sad and thought. I was at that moment. Feeling physically tired and mentally relaxed on the way back is a wonderful result of walking. I felt the moment. We gotta live in the moment!
Thank you ๐ค
I am a solitary walker and midnight swimmer, but due to the events of a couple of years, have forgone stayed in close proximity of my parents. Every year I would do a tour of the waterfalls in the area. I live down the road from Ingles Falls but have avoided it since they decided to commercialize it. I usually start the tour by visiting Indian Falls.
More About Indian Falls and the Falls Tour.
I've stolen someone's engagement photo to show how girls do it in Canada in the winter.
I mean go on a walk.
Another place I go walking is along Sauble Beach. It is about 30 minutes away. At midnight there are few people, the stars are magnificent and swimming is like in a dream. This is a short video someone made just before a storm.
This is me frolicking and skinny dipping in the water at midnight.
Swimming at night is a bit scary for me. For some reason, being in the dark sea doesn't feel safe. It must be very pleasant to live near a natural beauty like a waterfall.
Photo styles of girls are very snow friendly. This photo made me cold, but I liked its sincerity. The clouds in the video look very impressive. Swimming in that ambiance can be full of adrenaline, which is worth a try. Judging by the drawings, you're the one having the most fun there ๐๐
Swimming at night is a different experience. I cannot talk about swimming in the sea at night, but freshwater lakes surround me. At night the waves are calmed, and the water effervesces and is warm. It is similar to warming a duvet in a dryer before going to sleep.
We used to have an above-ground swimming pool as I was growing up. Skinny dipping at night is an entirely different sensation. To appreciate the difference, try bathing while wearing a bathing suit. For me, skinny dipping is like going to bed with satin sheets. It is a pastime carried out by yourself or as a means to enhance a relationship.
I must sound like a hedonist. I think that it is a reflection of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. One might look at a painting of a pitcher of water, but sometimes one must have a sip
In retrospect, I am painting the picture of my life with too much attention to detail. Thoughts of me cavorting at night under starry skies is enough to scare anyone. I'll try to curtail my enthusiasm in the future.
The electric blanket is my best friend in winter๐ There's nothing like getting into a warm bed in cold weather ๐ So with the example you gave, I was able to imagine the feeling you feel in freshwater.
I didn't know about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, I had a look at it when I read it in your comment. Unfortunately, I don't know about this, so I'll read about it. Thanks to you, I realized an issue that I didn't know, that's why thank you ๐ค
Your best friend is someone you can put your cold feet against their legs in the wintertime. However, I don't think that particular need is found on Maslow's HoN.
I agree with you. It is one of the best chances ๐
Good thoughts, good words and a wonderful walk ๐๐
Glad to hear that you liked it. Thank you ๐ค
Glad to read a charming story ๐ Have an awesome day ๐โจ
Thanks, have a nice day, too ๐
Thank you ๐๐
@enveng It is not necessary to walk long distances to start noticing big changes in your life. It is enough to try a little more each day to gradually notice a substantial difference in your physical and emotional state. That fruit is between sweet and bitter like all paths and daily thoughts. Greetings.
Thank you so much for reading my post and sharing your thoughts. Actually, as you said, slow and short walks may be enough to notice the important difference. Btw, I really liked your comment on the fruit ๐
To be happy we do not have to wait for the right moment, happiness is in each of us and knowing how to enjoy the simple things in life. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience.
You summed it up very well, I agree with every word of it ๐ค
