I came to these islands in the Pacific Ocean as always, to practice diving and observe the underwater life. I decided to stop the boat when I saw some dolphins swimming from behind. I really don't know what attracts dolphins to boats. I guess they like speed, just like dogs when we invite them to run.

I jumped into the water with my scuba gear to swim a bit with these nice animals. I got the impression that they had swum with other people before, because they seemed confident and got close enough for me to touch them. Generally I don't touch wild animals, so as not to get used to being so trusting with people, because not all humans have the same intentions.

I decided to dive in a bit more. I noticed that at the bottom there were some rocks, corals, algae and lots of tropical fish here and there. But an unusual object at the foot of those rocks caught my attention: It was an airplane, the remains of an old airplane. I don't know much about airplanes, about models, but it seemed to me that it was an old war plane. But there was nothing left of his painting to look for some symbol that would indicate its origin.

I walked over to the cockpit and looked inside. Layers of coral, sand and silt predominated. However, I saw what looked like a bag over there. I inserted my arm with some difficulty through a hole and took out that package. I didn't see anything else of interest that I could take with me.

The dolphins were still by my side, as if they were also interested in the rusty remains of the old plane. And I thought, “Maybe someone died in here. Is it right to have taken out this old bag?"

I got on the boat and immediately went to check what I had. It was a leather wallet with a tightly sealed thick plastic wrapper inside. The only thing there was a small notebook. Perhaps it was a logbook or a personal diary. I carefully opened it and saw that the writing was Japanese. Apparently, the owner of this notebook wanted his notes to survive and never be destroyed by water.

Thank you friend. Yes, you are in my witness list.

Great story and drawing! I wonder what happened to the owner of the notebook. The last Japanese soldier who did not know that the war was over was found in the jungles of Oceania in 2000, if I'm not mistaken, it is quite possible that he left his diary on the plane :).

Yes, friend. This is the idea. Many japanese and american soldiers died and some survive that terrible war.
