Jitka was a sea creature. Their species has never come into contact with humans, thanks to the inability of humans to see their bodies underwater due to a strange phenomenon.

They were intelligent creatures, with a gelatinous and electric body, similar to that of jellyfish in consistency, but with arms and a large fin for swimming, similar to what we call mermaids.

One day Jitka was swimming with her brothers and sisters in the depths of the ocean, when she noticed the hull of a boat on the surface of the water. It was nothing new, but they decided to go away like they always did. At a certain point, a repeated sound caught their attention and they turned back towards the hull.

Some large objects had just entered the water. Objects that they had never seen, with a spherical shape, a metallic and luminous surface. The spheres reached the underwater bottom and then began to probe it. Jitka and her brothers watched them for a while, when the spheres began to make an annoying sound. They got scared and quickly swam towards their den.

They wanted to warn their parents and friends, but when they arrived they found a group already gathered and very worried. Others had noticed the spheres and were convinced that humans had found a way to see them, had built one of their own devices to identify them. This danger had already existed for many years, since human technology began to rapidly evolve, but now everything seemed real and terrible.

The nightmare materialized when a friend of theirs reached them in terror and told the others that his son had been captured by one of the spheres. Stunned by the strange sound it made, he was unable to swim in the right direction and they caught him.

Jitka and her peers made the usual decision, to escape from their home and find a place even deeper in the ocean, where human intelligence could never reach them.

Everyone, like her, thought that this time it was different. This time the humans had proof of their existence, they had a means to track them down, and they probably wouldn't give up.
