ISLAND MISSING AND SINKED IN THE SEA.
Due to the strict measures applied for the departure of maritime vessels motivated to quarantine by the covi-19, permission was requested from the coast guard to be able to navigate from Sucre State to the island of Margarita to bring medicine and food for an aunt who lives on the island.
Thank God we were granted a permit with a date and time of departure to the island and a date and time to return to the Sucre State to avoid sanctions where the period was one week of stay on the island of Margarita requested by us. The day after the permit was issued, the trip lasted three (3) hours to the island, and during it, whales and dolphins could be seen coming and going from the water and the calm and very crystalline sea, the weights could be seen from the vote pass next to us.
Upon arriving on the island we headed to my aunt Flor's house to bring her medicine and food and accompany her for a week. My aunt lives in a fishing village, her house is a few meters from the coast and we observe many boats on the shore being cleaned by their owners and fishermen preparing their fishing nets for the daily daily chore. The aunt was waiting for us with a fish soup plus a fried fish with tostones and salad, after lunch we accompanied her the rest of the afternoon at home, talking over coffee and trying the tasty sweets that the aunt makes.
At dawn the next day we were awakened by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and we see the aunt very happy for our visit making arepa and curdled pepitona for breakfast and before sitting at the table Uncle José and two cousins came from the fishing nocturnal.
During breakfast we talked a lot and remembered anecdotes from the family's past and at that time the conversation of the day's fishing came out and the cousins who saw a part of an island that disappeared or hit the sea many years ago commented and say that there is gold buried in it. And the cousins invited me to go the next day to fish and see the place.
The next day at four in the morning, having everything prepared, we went fishing near the sunken island, throwing the nets and thank God the fishing was very good since we brought out many highly sought-after marine species on the market such as the famous choir choir, snapper , shrimp and octopus, but a request is missing, which were the lobsters that we did not get and we approached the island submerged underwater and we observed infinities of marine species such as whale dolphins and sharks.
Before we got close I was able to take some photos which I will publish the best since it was a beautiful but very dangerous spectacle because of the species that were there and on one side of the rocks we managed to capture a large number of octopuses and after so much searching we located several lobsters that caught them with small nets so as not to kill them and deliver them alive to the client that my uncle has in the market. It was surprising this adventure to share spaces with so many marine species in one place.
