After listening from all sides about the black and white stripes of life, the idea came to my mind to draw it the way I understand it. And when an idea comes up, I sketch it on anything and whatever comes to hand, so as not to forget. Which I will not sketch, then, usually, remain unfulfilled, and this one is now doomed to turn into a picture.

Наслушавшись со всех сторон про чёрно-белую полосатость жизни пришла мне в голову идея нарисовать это так, как я понимаю. А когда приходит какая-то идея, то я её зарисовываю на чём попало и тем, что под руку попадётся, чтобы не забыть. Которые не зарисую, то, обычно, так и остаются неосуществленными, а эта теперь обречена когда-нибудь превратиться в картину, которая будет называться: "В плену остоятельств".

But the canvas will no longer have the energy that is in this initial sketch. This always happens when there is no opportunity to immediately take up the brush. Then I will take a canvas, paints, brushes and, most likely, I will not limit myself to just painting over the background in the way it looks on the sketch, but I will start filling it with fragments of some circumstances that take a person captive. And this person is already beginning to invent about the striping of his life, although it is not striped at all. Well, something like that.

Но на холсте уже не будет той энергии, которая есть в этом первоначальном наброске. Так всегда получается, когда нет возможности сразу взяться за кисть. Потом я возьму холст, краски, кисти и, скорее всего, не ограничусь просто закрашиванием фона таким образом, как он выглядит на эскизе. а начну заполнять это фрагментами каких-то обстоятельств, берущих человека в плен. А человек этот начинает уже выдумывать про полосатость своей жизни, хотя она совсем неполосатая. Ну как-то так.

Initially, the idea was this: black on the right, white on the left, and in the middle everything is as it usually is, and we come up with white and black ourselves. But without framing, I stopped liking it and I painted over the white with black, thinking along the way about the name where "captivity" appeared. I'll leave it that way.

Первоначально идея была такая: справа чёрное, слева белое, а в середине всё так, как обычно и есть, а про белое и чёрное мы придумываем сами. Но без обрамления мне это перестало нравится и я закрасил белое чёрным, размышляя по ходу уже и про название, где появился "плен". Так и оставлю.

I did not immediately paint over white with black, but while brewing tea for myself, I looked at this sheet from afar and decided to take a picture of the mess on my desktop before making the decision.

Закрашивать белое чёрным я стал не сразу, а заваривая себе чай посматривал на этот лист издалека и прежде чем выполнить принятое решение, решил сфотографировать беспорядок на своём рабочем столе.

And now, when everything is already done, I begin to extract artistry for photography from what I have done.

И вот теперь, когда всё уже сделано, я начинаю извлекать из содеянного художественность для фотографии.
