Today my post is based on a museum. When I say word museum what do you feel? Surely you feel it is about something historical. But it is not. Then what is it ?🤔 Actually it is a wildlife museum. Is that term unfamiliar to you? Then through this article I will let you know about it.

What is meant by wildlife museum?

Wildlife museum is a museum which is totally dedicated to wildlife

This article is based on my experience at wildlife museum. .

At the begining I want to say that me and my brother are addicted to travelling . So whenever we have time we love to travel.

As today is a Sunday there were not much works to do. So about three days ago we planned about going to see this place. Two of our friends also joined with us.

We left home at ten in the morning. Our friends joind us on the way to museum.

The wildlife museum is located at Giritale in Polonnaruwe district, Sri Lanka. It took around 40 minutes to reach the destination from our place.

The museum is located in a jungle which adds a real wildlife experience to the place.

At the entrance we took four tickets for us. Then we travelled along a path full of trees 🌳🌳🌳 and reached where we were hopping.

It is a non-large museum housed in a single building. But it's value is amazing. This is a noval experience to Sri Lankan as this is the first wildlife museum in my country.

We took off our shoes and entered the place. I do not know why?🤷 But there was an advertisment for you to take off your shoes and enter, so we obeyed.

At the enentrance there was somewhat large notice board. According to that this place was first implemented on 2010 and it is under the control of Wildlife Conservation Department of Sri Lanka. They aim to educate general public about wildlife through this museum.

There were multiples of animal skeletons, replicans of indigenous animals and foriegn animals are displayed at the museum. The officer who is on duty briefed that they have around thirty animals and species along with a range of birds and butterflies.

The one of the most significant replicans was the rare black leopard which was found at the Sinharaja forest, Sri Lanka.

This is a replicans of huge crocadile which is 7-8 meters long in length. According to the officer it was found at the Maduru Oya, Sri Lanka. It is a very dangerous crocadile species that can be found in my country. He also told that there are different varieties of crocadile species all around the world but Sri Lanka has only two varieties upto now.

This is a replican of Grey flying squirrel which is a rare noctural mammal in heavy forests. In Sri Lanka we called it as 'hambawa'.

Apart from those there were multiples of skeletons and replicans displayed at the museum. Followings are some photograph which I captured at there.

And also there were few repicans of tigers which were shot down by hunters.😢😢 It is very unfair to kill them like this.🙅 After all we all are living beings.

So finally I want to say that as human beings our responsibility is to gather knowledge from what they have achieved via hard working and to preserve these precious place for future and to contribute as much as we can to the conservation of wildlife.
