The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #208 - One of the driest places on earth

Northern Chile does have an amazing landscape. This is desert land. Chile's Atacama desert is one of the driest places on our planet. The desert does experience extreme temperatures. It might be hot during the day, but freezing degrees at night. Atacamo can offer high altitude lakes, volcanoes, rock formations, but also wildlife and amazing colors. This photo was taken near the small town San Pedro de Atacama.
