The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #066 - Sand is everywhere
The photo was taken in a place called Deadvlei in Namibia. Deadvlei is the remains of an ancient riverbed. The floor is white, consisting of dry, cracked mud and petrified camel thorn trees, more than 500 years old. The Namib desert has some of the highest sand dunes in the world. The one on the photo is Big Daddy and close to 300 m. in hight.
