The World of XPILAR - B&W PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #199 - When the boats come in
This is at the northern tip of the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. The place is called Cap Malhereux. It's a pleasant place to be in the afternoon. Here you will hardly see any larger boats catering for tourist. This is a place where the locals come to the shores in small wooden boats. It's one of the places that also has a historic significanse. During the years from 1715 – 1810 France had the colonial power on the island. Then in 1810 the British desided they wanted the power. Then, completely by surprise, the attacked the French in this northern tip of the island where they surprised the French who were defeated. The place got the name after that batle.
