Facing the Unexplainable: Things That Go Bump in the Night (and Day)!

in WORLD OF XPILAR7 months ago

Since childhood, I have definitely been a believer in the possibility that there is a lot more between Heaven and Earth than we are currently aware of.

I don't really intend that to be a statement to the effect of "I believe in ghosts," but I do believe that there are many things in our world that are real but we don't have the tools or ability to understand or measure them at our current state of development.

When I try to explain this to people, I often illustrate with simple developments in science. For example, radio waves and microwaves existed long long before our ability to measure them and harness them for useful purposes. But just because we weren't aware of them or able to do anything with him didn't mean they didn't exist. They definitely did!

The Point Being...

From time to time I encounter things — we might call them phenomena, if you like — that I don't have any way to logically explain. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to make any declarations that they are "not possible'" simply because I don't understand them.

I am sitting here, writing these words, from the downstairs level of our house where I have my home office. It is abot 11:00 at night.

For the last hour or so, I have been hearing regular footsteps walking back and forth upstairs, sounding like they come from the master bedroom and then walk into south end the large upstairs living room. This is actually not possible because those two rooms are not connected — you have to walk a long way down the corridor towards the kitchen and then go into the living room north end, from there.

What makes this whole scenario doubly impossible is the fact that there's actually nobody upstairs! Every other human in the house — besides myself — is next door to me, here downstairs, watching tv. I know this because I've checked.

The logical rational scientist in me has done all the usual things: I've checked that it isn't the dog scratching herself and wandering around... even though these are clearly human footsteps. No, she's also downstairs.

I've checked that it isn't a branch beating against the side of the house in the wind. No it isn't, it's not only completely still but there are actually no branches anywhere close to this end of the house. An animal, perhaps a raccoon, traversing the deck upstairs? Went and looked several times; shone the flashlight... not happening. Same thing with something on the roof, like maybe an owl hopping around. Not happening.

It's also not water pipes expanding and contracting, nor the timbers in the house settling, nor rats running in the spaces between the timbers that hold up the floor. Nothing has such a regular sound, and most of us know what it sounds like when somebody is walking across a floor upstairs from us.

Having done a fairly thorough check to see what possibly could be established as the cause, I now end up with the possibility of it being "something else."

I'm not trying to label the "something else;" I'm merely sending these "footsteps" to a file in my head called "unexplained."

I would hazard a guess that most of us have had experiences with "something else" that we can't exactly explain. Perhaps we are reluctant to further consider these things for religious reasons or personal reasons because they would mess with our sense of what is — and isn't — real, so we choose to just not explain them. Moreover, many people choose to not even talk about them.

I grok that. We don't want to be thought "crazy."

That said, I also have a firm enough grip on my own senses to not simply deny the whole experience and establish that "I must be imagining things." No. No, I'm not. I'm busy and I have stuff to do, and I don't have time to sit around and dream up things to "imagine."

In fact, the whole thing is annoying because it was distracting me from things I very much needed to get done!

Truthfully? This sort of stuff is pretty common. It's just that most people have been "trained" to deny it, when it happens... rather than talk about it and simply ascribe it to being a normal part of life we simply can't explain.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week ahead!

I believe you! There have always been these existences not visible to human eyes. I was thinking about writing about one such experience. There are worlds and worlds of creatures out there.

Having said that, not everyone is able to feel their presence!
