A Day of Doing Something COMPLETELY Different!

Being thoroughly worn out by the whole crypto and financial market circus, I chose to do the only thing that made any sense to me: I stepped away and did something completely different.

I returned to my "old" way of making a living — which remains one of my significant home businesses — and went on eBay and started listing old postage stamps for sale, from my still fairly considerable stocks.

To be honest, it was very refreshing to not worry too much about investing and blog posts and everything related, for a while. Chances are, I'll be putting a good bit of effort into this little business of mine, for the next few weeks.

Gotta pay for those groceries, somehow, right?

What I always liked about being a stamp trader — as well as a collector — was the way it always had the feel of being a treasure hunt. Ultimately, the "profit" was to be made by knowing things, and by being able to broker that knowledge into getting the right item in front of the right audience.

One of the things I would so often do — and still do, sometimes — is to buy USA stamps in Denmark where there are fewer specialists, and Danish stamps in the USA where there are fewer specialists in those, and them resell them back in their native countries.

That, of course, is part of the joy of the Internet and being in the business of selling something so small it fits in an ordinary letter.

It was my father who originally got me started when I was about seven years old, and I have been at it ever since! Well, not buying and selling, but being a collector.

I think one of the reasons I really got into it was because we traveled so much around the world when I was growing up, and a single stamp album was a small enough thing that I could take with me... and yet get hours of entertainment out of, no matter where we went.

And so, that's where I turned my attention today... and it was really nice to forget all about Bitcoin, Steem and other such things!
