Playing photographer #9. People and Food

Greetings, my dear friends. While browsing through the WORLD OF XPILAR competitions page, I noticed the “Playing photographer” competition. I found the terms of the contest curious. You have to choose several photos with the same idea. You can choose any idea you like, the possibilities are almost endless. I looked in my photo archive and found several images that could be united by the theme "People and Food".

Приветствую вас, друзья! Просматривая страницу с конкурсами WORLD OF XPILAR, я обратила внимание на конкурс “Playing photographer”. Условия этого конкурса показались мне любопытными. Необходимо подобрать несколько фотографий, объединённых одной идеей. Идею можно выбрать на свой вкус, вариантов почти бесконечное количество. Я заглянула в свой фотоархив, и нашла несколько снимков, которые можно объединить темой “Люди и Пища”.

The first shot could be called "People, Dogs and Food", or very briefly and simply "Delicious Shawarma". Shawarma is meat with vegetables and hot sauce wrapped in a pita, in the hands of a girl. This dog looked very touching. The smell of the shawarma was deafeningly delicious and enticing, but it was as if he knew that dogs are not allowed to eat such food.

Первый кадр можно было бы назвать “Люди, собаки и пища”, или совсем коротко и просто “Вкусная шаверма”. Шаверма - это мясо с овощами и острым соусом, завернутое в лаваш, в руках у девушки. Этот пёс выглядел очень трогательно. Запах шавермы казался ему оглушающе вкусным и манящим, но он как будто понимал, что собакам такую пищу есть нельзя.

Next we move to a small café that specialises in sandwiches and a variety of drinks. The menu on the door suggests you choose a drink and snack from a long list. You can easily guess which drink is the most popular here - its name is typed in glowing letters above the counter.

Дальше мы переместимся к небольшому кафе, которое специализируется на сэндвичах и разнообразных напитках. Меню на дверях предлагает выбрать напиток и закуску из длинного списка. Вы легко угадаете, какой напиток здесь самый популярный - его название набрано светящимися буквами над прилавком.

We started with a quick snack at the bus stop, then went to a miniature cafe, and then I suggest you look into the restaurant courtyard. All these tables are in the courtyard of a creative space, surrounded by cafés and eateries to suit all tastes. The easiest choice here will be pizza, but you can also get a full meal.

Начали мы с вами с быстрого перекуса на автобусной остановке, потом отправились в миниатюрное кафе, а дальше предлагаю заглянуть в ресторанный дворик. Все эти столики стоят во дворе креативного пространства, они окружены кафе и ресторанчиками на любой вкус. Проще всего выбрать пиццу, но можно заказать и полноценный обед.

Finally, the last café on our virtual walk today. We won't go inside to the deep armchairs and polite waiters, we'll just take a quick glance out the window. In front of the café windows there is a genre sculpture, The Photographer's Monument, and by the photographer's foot we see the dog again, this time a bronze dog. It's a different breed, but somewhat similar to the dog from the first photo.

И, наконец, последнее кафе в нашей сегодняшней виртуальной прогулке. Мы не станем заходить внутрь, к глубоким креслам и вежливым официантам, мы только бросим беглый взгляд в окно. Перед окнами кафе расположена жанровая скульптура “Памятник фотографу”, и у ног фотографа мы вновь видим собаку, на этот раз бронзовую. Это другая порода, но чем-то они похожи с псом с первого снимка.
