Our Adventures Around London on 31.05.2022 💂‍

Hello again Steemians! So, this post is about our adventures around London on Tuesday. We went to Whitechapel using the new Elizabeth Line, visited one of the few timber buildings that survived the Great Fire of London, went to Spitalfields Market, past The Gherkin and then arrived at the Tower of London again and walked over Tower Bridge. 🌉

On Tuesday evening, we went to Whitechapel from Canary Wharf on the new Elizabeth Line that opened the week before. The train was very modern and comfortable. After this I tried to follow in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper through Whitechapel but gave up because the sites of the murder victims are down obscure back alleys and are difficult to locate.

After this we went to the Hoop & Grapes pub which dates from 1593 and it is one of the few timber buildings that survived the Great Fire of 1666.

We continued to wander and arrived at Spitalfields Market and then we walked past the iconic building 30 St Mary Exe (The Gherkin) and found ourselves at the Tower of London again and this time we walked across Tower Bridge, both iconic landmarks are very beautiful at night.
