The cosiest part of India, state Kerala. This is the coastline to the North of Varkala, a resort popular among international vacationers. A pathway along the red cliffs is an entrance to the rural areas that lead more traditional lifestyle.
God's Own Country is a poetic (and marketing) name of Kerala.
I took this photo during my three-month trip to beautiful South India in 2016.

I have no special information about sharks in Kerala. There are sharks in the Indian Ocean, of course, and nobody can give a garantee. But ... a chance to die in a car accident is much higher so... in my opinion, street traffic is a real danger we should be wary of.
I think we should avoid swimming only in areas where sharks attack people often. I have never heard Kerala belongs to this category.
If you want to swim in the sea for long distances, you should go to the Black Sea - they have no dangerous sharks only the spiny dogfish - safe. Choose Batumi, Georgia :) a nice city.
Beautiful place. On the one hand, I want to go there, but on the other, something inside me resists
India is special... You may fall in love with it or you will hate it as a travel destination. So ...you should try if you want to know for sure. :)
