The winners always write history. In most cases, however, this is not entirely true. When people hear this expression, they think of wars, wars left in the past. That have entirely changed human history, in one way or another. No, the victors of wars do not write history, they only participate in it. The more famous you are, the more critical you are in history. Rest of us we are just unknown names on tombstones. No one remembers the victims and why they "have" no place in history.
Today I visited the Regional Burgas Historical Museum.
It is open for visits every day from 10:00 to 7:00 PM, located in the city center, at 31 Lermontov Street.
As soon as you enter, you can not only feel the past, but you can smell it. Not felt the smell of wood varnish, or paint, the exhibits are preserved, in perfect condition. The cashier, who is in charge of the museum, speaks several languages and even if you do not know Bulgarian, she will explain in detail about each exhibit. On the first floor, you can see different types of weapons, clothing, war documents, and medals.
Some of the documents, for example, describe that one of the museums was the first girls' school in the area. The textbooks were used to teach the young minds of that time. The experience is truly amazing. However, as I said at the beginning, some of the people in the photos are strangers now. We do not know their history, or why they took part in a war or an uprising. I was quite sad about that. When all current social networks disappear, we will be strangers. The mysterious John Doe.
The second floor was much more remarkable for me personally than the first. Entire floor with icons and drawings. Look at them. Incredibly beautiful drawings made on imperfect wood. Just like ourselves, the foundation, our body, may be imperfect, but our essence, soul, and character may be beautiful.
Let our children not grow up in a terrible world. Together we can make it better. It is our destiny to
suffer from the past, to long for the future, but to forget the present.
