Acrylic Abstracts (power Up 100%)
Hello again, all. I hope your days (or nights) are going well.
I would like to share a few of my other works. Abstract art isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love to create paintings that have movement, yet may not suggest a particular object or scene. In fact, whatever you happen to see in them is ok with me. I've had people ask, "Is that a [whatever] I see in that spot?" I always answer, "If you see it, it's there!"
Sometimes my titles give some guidance, but I want people to imagine anything they want to imagine. I would really rather call them "Untitled 23" and "Untitled 41" but most times I don't get away with that.
This first one IS about a certain thing, and it's titled "Beltane." Beltane is an ancient Irish and Scottish spring festival, where fires are lit of the hillside that can be seen from a long way off. It celebrates the return of the sun and is also seen as a purifying presence. People would dance around or dare to jump through the flames. Farmers would walk their cows between the fires, and villagers would douse their home fires, to be relit with a torch from the Beltane fires.
It's acrylic on canvas, as are the rest that I'm sharing today and is 18 x24 inches.
The next one is titled "Collision", but is not tied to any particular event. It is 14x14 inches. What shows up white in the photo is actually silver, so it shines a little. I enjoy creating many layers. That way, it's possible to see something on the second viewing that you might not have seen in the first.
Just one more, for this post. It's title is "Deluge." It was fun to create the "drippyness" of this one. I let the paint run off the canvas onto paper on the floor, which could then be used in a collage later. This painting is a little larger, measuring 24 x 36 inches.
I hope you enjoyed viewing. I've certainly been enjoying browsing through Steemit, though I've barely scratched the surface. Do you like abstract art? Why or why not? Have any favorite artists? Comments and suggestions are always welcome. Peace.
I like all three pictures, but apparently the first one is my favorite. I see this firelight and new energy :)
Thank you! That's my favorite too.
