Ruins of the 17th century colonial temple of San Lorenzo, in eastern Venezuela.steemCreated with Sketch.

In this, my first publication in the World of XPILAR community, I wanted to share some photographs that I took some time ago of the circular temple in the colonial town of San Lorenzo, in the Anzoátegui state, Venezuela.
This town was founded as a mission of Catholic evangelization at the end of the 17th century by the order of the Franciscans (Ordo Fratrum Minorum).
Graziano Gasparini, the famous historian of American colonial architecture, points out that this is the only Catholic temple with a circular plan in America. In the satellite view of Google Maps, the plant can still be seen clearly.
