The Tortoise and the market woman

Once upon a time, there lived a Tortoise who came from a distant land far away from home. His name was Moon. He came from a lazy family, both his dad and mom never wanted to do hard work, all they did was to dig and steal other animals foods.

Afterwards, famine broke out in the land of the animals. The famine struck with a devastating effect. Small and old animals started dieing while the young animals fought and ate each other. Moon never wanted to imitate his parents so, off he went in search for work.

He came into the land of humans in a village called Ntutu. Ntutu was a center of commercial activities, it has one of the largest market. Moon met a woman who sells rice, beans and palm karnel in bags with other food items. Her name was Hensel

The both (Moon and Hensel) had an agreement with each other. Moon Hawks some bags of food stuffs and he gets paid weekly. “Thank you so much ma”, said the tortoise. “I hope you make me proud”, replied the woman.

In his truck, Moon hawked these food stuffs around many villages, made lot gain, covered the capital,etc. Mrs. Hensel loved him and gave him a home. She told him where she keeps her money, “it is in the folds of the bag”, she said.

Although Moon was mocked by the villagers, he gave them a smile and continued. He succeeded in making money, and he went home to his family happy and satisfied. His joy knew no bounds.
