WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 4 | Bardolino

In these winter days and the approaching Christmas and New Year holidays, I decided to dig into my archive and came across a summer warm trip. I hope to warm you with my moments and now I will tell you about the Italian Bardolino.

Gave its name to the wine produced in this area, the small town of Bardolino located on the natural harbor formed by the Cornicello and Mirabello capes. In Bardolino there is evidence of the existence of prehistoric civilizations of this place, ancient inhabitants who lived here even before the place became an important Roman center. Received the status of a city, Bardolino was sold to Verona in 1193. The wine production for which the area is so famous began its development after Bardolino passed into the hands of the Republic of Venice.

Bardolino is a picturesque village on the eastern shore of Lago di Garda, about 30 km from Verona. Located at the foot of the Morainic hills covered with olive groves and vineyards, Bardolino is famous for its oil and wine production.

The place is rich in historical monuments, castles and fortresses. This is also the reason why famous writers and artists choose it as their favorite holiday destination: here they find the inspiration they need to give birth to their art.
The climate is mild throughout the year. This climate is ideal for growing local products such as olives, lemons and oranges, grapes and truffles – products that are highly valued by locals and visitors alike.

The structure of the village is a herringbone type typical of fishing villages. The streets run perpendicular to the shore so that boats can be easily sheltered. The old part of the town is picturesque and colorful, everywhere there is activity and the mood is uplifted.

This small town is a place with an ancient history, but it is alive with life. Thanks to its magical atmosphere and natural beauty, it is one of the main destinations for tourism.

We took a short walk in Desenzano del Garda and enjoyed the aquatic life of the lake.

The city welcomes us with an abundance of flowers. Dozens of flower beds are planted along the promenade and bring joy to passers-by.

The old town center still has the charm of a medieval village. The narrow streets, colorful houses and shops create an extremely pleasant atmosphere.

The town also attracts tourists with the beauty of the old town center with its alleys, numerous shops, typical restaurants and long promenades along the lake shore.

The central part of Bardolino is a pleasant place to walk. In the distance of the photo you can see the building of the church.

The streets are colorful and picturesque. The terraces and gardens of the houses are covered with flowers. It is a real pleasure to immerse yourself in this atmosphere.
