Autumn walk along Krestovsky Island (St. Petersburg) (photo story in 12 pictures)
This walk took place last fall. It was a day off and I was in the mood for a walk. My niece didn't mind walking either. I picked her up in a car and we arrived at the Krestovsky Island.
The weather was autumnal, cool and windy. First, we wanted to walk to the coast of the island, which is washed by the Gulf of Finland. Krestovsky Island is very large. There is a large alley in the middle of it, at the end of which is the stadium Gazprom Arena (Zenith Arena). This stadium hosted the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches. We headed towards this stadium. When we got to the stadium, we found out that there was no access to the shore at this place.
Then we went for a walk in the park on the island itself. Here we saw many interesting autumn views, with ponds, modern apartments. The pre-sunset cloudy sky perfectly complemented the autumn atmosphere.
There weren't many people in the park. Perhaps this was due to the weather. Despite the strong wind, we decided to go to the coast of the island at the end of the walk. I knew that there was a modern embankment, where you can admire the view of the cable-stayed bridge connecting the two parts of the city, separated by the Malaya Nevka River and the Gulf of Finland.
There really was a strong wind on the embankment and we could not stay there for a long time. But I achieved my goal anyway. I saw the new embankment and beautiful view of the cable-stayed bridge against the backdrop of the sunset. To tell the truth, taking a photo of this bridge in front of the sunset was my main goal this day. It's a pity that I didn't have a camera with me, I shot everything on my phone. But it seems to me that all the same my photos reflect well the general mood of that autumn day and our walk.
