A trip to Rajmachi Fort and surroundings!!

Rajmachi Fort is one of the many historical forts in the rugged hills of Sahyadri mountains. It consists of two twin fortresses. Udhewadi is a small village of about 60 households. The roads are good till Lonavala (A very famous hill station) beyond that roads are very bad but a very likable option for Off-road bikers.

There are two approaches to Fort Rajmachi, from Lonavala and from Kondhane village in Karjat Taluka of Raigad District. Lonavala – Rajmachi distance is 15 km and it is almost a plain walk, though there are a few ups and downs on this path. It takes about three and a half hour to cover the distance on foot.

This place is very beautiful and very less people visit it although one thing was breaking my heart that there was still plastic and waste lying around. As you see in the above picture... The concept of Eco-tourism is not taken seriously at least here in our country.

Anyways it was a four hour ride and the clock was ticking so i sat at on a hill appreciating the view enjoying light rain showers... Knowing that if i visit this place after 10 years it won't be the same.

At the end i just want to say that wander off and stay wild, chose unknown paths and cherish life.
