Greetings to all, today I join the contest of my friend @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #097 - this time I want to share this work of art, where I make a portrait of the beautiful "Audrey Hepburn" actress, model, dancer and British activist of the golden age of Hollywood, this work is done in the ballpoint pen technique, this technique is incredible for strong contrasts and is monochromatic, in this work we observe the soft nuances, lighting, depth and volume of the character, highlighting with a dark and strong contrast to give it more vision and realism.

Un gran saludo a todos, hoy me integro al concurso del amigo @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #097 - en esta oportunidad quiero compartir este trabajo de arte, en donde realizo un retrato de la hermosa " Audrey Hepburn" actriz, modelo, bailarina y activista británica de la época dorada de Hollywood, este trabajo esta realizado en la técnica del boligrafo, esta técnica es increible para realizar constrastes fuertes y es monocromática, en esta obra observamos los matices suaves, iluminación, profundidad y volumen del personaje, resaltando con un contraste oscuro y fuerte para darle mas visión y realismo.

Step 1

I make the sketch with the Hb-2 graphite pencil, it is very light and can be replaced by other dark tones, without leaving important traces that could ruin the portrait-style drawing.

Realizo el boceto con el lápiz de grafito Hb-2 es muy claro y se puede sustituir por otros tonos oscuros, sin dejar rastros importantes que puedan arruinar el dibujo al estilo de retrato.

Step 2

In this portrait we can see very dark tones and areas with great clarity, there is a lot of contrast, this effect is positive if we use the pen as a variable tone, more pressure of the pen towards the more abundant surface will be the expulsion of ink, this is feasible to obtain tones darker, the patterns of light and shadow are very visible here, you also have to know how to locate the elements that make up the face.

Este retrato podemos observar tonos muy oscuros y zonas con mucha claridad, hay mucho constraste, este efecto es positivo si utilizamos el boligrafo como tono variable, mas presion del boligrafo hacia la superficie mas abundante sera la expulsion de tinta, esto es factible para obtener tonos mas oscuros, los patrones de luces y sombras son muy visibles aqui, también hay que saber ubicar los elementos que componen el rostro.

When obtaining the first light layer of the drawing, I focus my attention on giving a new layer, this time darker, this will allow me to give the necessary contrast for this work, in the intermediate places of the face, I mix the different tones, to give that appearance realistic lighting and contrasts.

Al obtener la primera capa clara del dibujo, enfoco mi atención en dar una nueva capa esta vez mas oscura, esto me permitirá dar el contraste necesario para este trabajo, en los lugares intermedio del rostro, voy mezclando los diferentes tonos, para dar esa apariencia realista de iluminación y contrastes.

Already in this step we have almost 70% I focus my attention on the dark tones, this will give strength to the very dark shadows and to those places where the shadows predominate, it will give the appearance of volume, depth and realism.

Ya en este paso tenemos casi un 70 % enfoco mi atencion en los tonos oscuros, esto le dara fuerza a las sombras muy oscuras y a esos lugares en donde predominan las sombras, dara la apariencia de volumen, profundidad y realismo.

Note: The scanning of the steps of the work, tended to give this violet tone, which I liked a lot, but the original color is blue pen, but I wanted to present it so that you could appreciate it in different shades.

Nota: El excaneo de los pasos de la obra, tendieron a dar este tono color violeta, que me gusto mucho, pero el color original es boligrafo azul, pero quise presentarlo para que lo pudieran apreciar de distintos tonos.
