A big greeting to all, today I join the contest of the friend @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK # 056 - this time I wanted to make a portrait of @emilycorvof, a few weeks ago I promised him his portrait, This beautiful user is my niece and for more than a year, she has been living here in Steemit, with this work of art my purpose is to motivate her to work, in the many activities and contests that we see here on our platform, here I use the technique of graphite pencil, this chiaroscuro technique is monochromatic, we can make works that have that artistic nuance, in this work we observe the soft nuances, lighting, depth and volume, highlighting with a dark and strong contrast to give it more vision and realism.

Un gran saludo a todos, hoy me integro al concurso del amigo @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #056 - en esta oportunidad quise hacerle un retrato a @emilycorvof, desde hace unas semanas le prometí su retrato, esta hermosa usuaria es mi sobrina y desde hace mas de un año, hace vida aquí en Steemit, con este trabajo de arte mi finalidad es motivarla a trabajar, en las muchas actividades y concursos que vemos aquí en nuestra plataforma, aquí utilice la técnica de lápiz de grafito, esta técnica del claroscuro es monocromática, podemos realizar trabajos que tengan ese matiz artístico, en esta obra observamos los matices suaves, iluminación, profundidad y volumen, resaltando con un contraste oscuro y fuerte para darle mas visión y realismo.

Step 1

I make the sketch with the Hb-2 graphite pencil, it is very light and can be replaced by other dark tones, without leaving important traces that could ruin the portrait-style drawing.

Realizo el boceto con el lápiz de grafito Hb-2 es muy claro y se puede sustituir por otros tonos oscuros, sin dejar rastros importantes que puedan arruinar el dibujo al estilo de retrato.

Step 2

This portrait is in an almost frontal position and has an inclination to the left, a study must be done prior to the reference photograph, in order to understand the patterns of lights and shadows, it is also necessary to know how to locate the elements that make up the figure , I have given it a varied light and shadow pattern, this way I can get volume and depth, I use different hatches with the graphite pencil to give texture.

Este retrato esta en una posición casi de frente y tiene una inclinación hacia la izquierda, hay que hacer un estudio previo a la fotografía de referencia, para poder comprender los patrones de luces y sombras, también hay que saber ubicar los elementos que componen la figura, le he dado un patrón de luz y sombra variado, de esta manera puedo obtener volumen y profundidad, uso diferentes tramados con el lápiz de grafito para dar textura.

When obtaining the first light layer of the drawing, I focus my attention on giving a new layer this time darker, this will allow me to give the necessary contrast for this work, in the intermediate places of the face, I am mixing the different types of graphite, to give that realistic appearance of lighting and contrasts.

Al obtener la primera capa clara del dibujo, enfoco mi atención en dar una nueva capa esta vez mas oscura, esto me permitirá dar el contraste necesario para este trabajo, en los lugares intermedio del rostro, voy mezclando los diferentes tipos de grafitos, para dar esa apariencia realista de iluminación y contrastes.

In this example we can see the different types of patterns, which take different directions and others are uniform, here we can appreciate the dark tones and different shades that will give depth and volume to this work.

En este ejemplo podemos observar los diferentes tipos de tramados, que llevan distintas direcciones y otros van uniformes, aquí podemos apreciar los tonos oscuros y diferentes matices que van a darle profundidad y volumen a esta obra.
