Paris the City of RomancesteemCreated with Sketch.

in WORLD OF XPILARlast year

Greetings my fellow steemers i hope y'all having a wonderfull morning. In this post i'm gonna show you the infamous city of romance or the city of love as some people call it, but for me it was someting in the middle and it felt more of a spontaneus side quest from a videogame, and because ironically this is the place where i became a boyfriend with one of the friends i went with.

For the record i decided to make the Eiffel Tower the first picture of this post, because i think it fits very well as a first introduction picture, don't worry i will talk about it down in the post.

To be honest this is the most spontaneus holiday i've ever had and also one of the holidays i won't forget for a very long time, there is someting right when people say that the things most people plan for the last moment are the most fun. Basically a friend of mine had planned to go to Paris with her female friends and by planned i mean these 4 girls pick 1 random place in the world to go in the most random time just for fun, and note that they do that on like a monthly basis.

So basically two days before the flight one of the girls got sick and i took her place, imagine my reaction when i was asked to go to Paris with 3 girls, at first i thought it was going to be a nightmare going there with no male friends and just 3 girls, but then i said why not, and i said why not, because there was some begging.

After checking into our hotel we spent the first day exploring the city on foot, and by the way the girl i was in the room with was the girl that became my girlfriend after this holiday i'm gonna say it again it's so ironic.

So we strolled along the Seine River on the "Pont Alexandre III" bridge and as far as i remember it is considered the most beautifull bridge in the world, well i'm not an art guy, but this bridge is kinda sick i admit, you even gaze at the achitecture while walking on it.

After that we wandered around the city looking for some cool place to eat and meanwhile we saw the great Triumphal Arc and in person it is far more spectacular i don't know if Napoleon had a finger in the design of this art or the Arc de Triomphe de l’Etoile all alone, but they did a good job glorifying the Grand Army.

So we finally found a place to eat and me like a typical eastern european knowing that Paris is known for it's delicious and sophisticated cuisine like croissants or french onion soup, i decided to order something totally different - seafood from which i had not very pleasant consequences on the next day if you know what i mean.

The next day i had some stomach problems from the french clams and the craziest thing is that one of the girls had the same dish and she was fine. Anyway because i had to stay in the hotel our group of 4 people split in half and the girl i was in the room with stayed with me until i was feeling well and ready to go, the other two girls went to see the Palace of Versailles, but we wanted to go somewhere else and went straight to the Louvre.

As i stepped into the grand hall of the Louvre, i felt like some sort of nobleman i'm not gonna lie it was beautifull, i was astounded by the Louvre's immense size when I stepped inside its opulent halls. With its expansiveness, lofty ceilings, and elaborate architecture, the setting immediately got me thinking about what art actually is all about. I'm not an art guy but i definitely felt someting you know and also what kind of tourist i am if i didn't take a photo of the most famous painting in the world - Mona Lisa.

After a while we said enough art for today (we are eastern tourists afterall) got kinda bored from the Louvre and started wandering the streets of Paris again looking for some activities. In my honest opinion i somewhat understand why Paris is Paris, because everything is basically art in this city, the streets the buildings even the newspaper pavilions remind you of art (this was not a newspaper pavilion, but it was some sort of art bookstore i don't know what to call it).

Anyway later me and the girl went for a drink which to be honest looking back at it became some sort of date. Later the two other girls came and we spent the evening there consuming alcohol getting drunk on Aperol Spritz, because that's what the youth do hehe.

Last but not least i decided to end the post just like i started it with the Eiffel Tower, here's the Eiffel tower at day and it certainly is an incredible 300 meters tall art of engineering and a truly iconic landmark, but sorry to disappoint you it is not that good looking during the day. I can't imagine the complexity the people had to go trough in these times to build something that spectacular as this, it is one of the 7 wonders of the world afterall.

As tourist i was amazed by Paris and understood the association of it's reputation as a city of art, culture, and history, which creates this let's say romantic atmosphere. As a guy who would live there it's definitely not for me i would get bored eventually. One thing i found weird of Paris are the people, i mean i do not find them weird, but if you are not dressed like them they know you are not french i don't know how to explain it but the funny stereotypes are true, i'm just gonna say that in Paris the french notice when they are speaking with tourists.

I'm saving 1 more day of the story, but that's what not the post is about, but photography i'm gladly gonna say what happens in Paris stays in Paris hehe. Anyway i hope you liked my love/not love story and experience of this spontaneus trip.

Thank you for the kind words🙏🏻

That sounds like an amazing and spontaneous holiday experience! It's often true that unplanned trips can turn out to be the most memorable ones. Going to Paris with your friend and her female companions must have been quite an adventure. It's great that you embraced the opportunity and decided to join them, even though it might have seemed intimidating at first. Sometimes, stepping out of our comfort zones leads to incredible experiences and cherished memories. Cheers to unforgettable journeys!

Exactly! This trip was more of a blessing for me sometimes you just have to take the chance you know. It seemed intimidating at first, because imagine being in your twenties and go on a trip to Paris in the last moment with 3 females and not your bros it’s different. Anyway except the clam dish I don’t have bad memories of this trip it was quite the experience.

This is a very cool post, thank you. I read it before you sent me the link, so I didn't know it was a contest post yet. I liked it very much and immediately included it in my magazine.

And what a story! Thank you again.
