Hello everybody! I'm here once again to take part in the CityScape contest.

This time I'll present a picture that I took recently in Berlin, a city that blew up my mind, and now that I can take a look back, it was a very strong experience, I can realize that now, with a little bit more of perspective.

This is the wall of Berlin, a wall built to divide a country, based on ideological, political, and economical points of view.

One side, the west, was the capitalist model (France, UK, and the USA were in charge), and the east, the communist side, was managed by the URSS (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). This was the beginning f the Cold War.

The wall divided the city, but clearly also divided families and friends in a microscale analysis, but it was a representation of a divided whole world as well, which had taken place in Germany.

This was after the Nazi's army fell down, and after of course, Germany lost World War II.

The Wall was on its foot between 1961 and 1991.

Berlin has memorials to this construction in different parts, and this one is a little bit far from the center. I "enjoyed" visiting it (if that adjective can be used in this horrible context), because there wasn't much people there.

About the source of this information, it's what I remember after studying this topics in my career as a Geographer (I also had History as an asignature), also I read some signs that I found in Berlin city.
