Дом был построен в 1902—1903 годах архитектором Гавриилом Васильевичем Барановским для магазина колониальных товаров торгового товарищества «Братья Елисеевы». Здание выделяется на фоне классической архитектуры Невского проспекта своими витражами, скульптурами и роскошью отделки. Стиль здания был призван показать богатство товарищества и привлечь внимание потенциальных покупателей. Витраж на Невской стороне здания, покрывающей несколько этажей, создаёт впечатление одной громадной витрины

Но всё это я прочитал потом. Мы просто гуляли в морозную ночь, была метель и хотелось зайти куда-нибудь погреться. Вот в эту "подворотню" мы и заглянули...

The house was built in 1902-1903 by architect Gavriil Vasilyevich Baranovsky for the colonial goods store of the Eliseev Brothers trading partnership. The building stands out against the background of the classical architecture of Nevsky Prospekt with its stained glass windows, sculptures and luxury finishes. The style of the building was intended to show the wealth of the partnership and attract the attention of potential buyers. The stained glass window on the Nevsky side of the building, covering several floors, gives the impression of one huge showcase

But I read all this later. We were just walking on a frosty night, there was a blizzard and I wanted to go somewhere to warm up. It was into this "gateway" that we looked...

Если бы я зашёл сюда первый раз... возможно, я бы сильно удивился или растерялся. На относительно небольшой площади сконцентрировано невероятное количество всяких деликатесов. А сам зал выглядит излишне роскошно. Рыбий глаз, конечно, искажает перспективу, прямые линии... но он позволяет охватить почти весь объём помещения...

If I came here for the first time... perhaps I would be very surprised or confused. An incredible amount of delicacies is concentrated on a relatively small area. And the hall itself looks too luxurious. Fisheye, of course, distorts perspective, straight lines... but it allows you to cover almost the entire volume of the room...

Чтобы показать вам всю витрину этого магазина купцов Елисеевых, мне пришлось бы перейти на другую сторону Невского проспекта. Но у нас не было таких планов.

            ИНтересное место)) У меня идея, создавайте подборку из любопытных локаций в Питере. Будет отличным путеводителем для гостей города) В Эрмитаж мы само-собой заглянем, но город славен и небольшими , особо нераскрученными историческими местами))

              Специально такие места не снимал, но в архивах покопаться можно.
              А вообще, для такой идеи нужна целенаправленная съёмка.
