The vertical gives an element of stability to any image. I always start post-processing with the alignment of the horizon. After that, the further course of processing becomes clearer. This affects the perception of the photo.
Then I usually trim the excess to highlight the essential. Then I go on.
But this is only one of the algorithms. Of course, everyone has their own :)
