Surprised by a pair of Capuchin Monkeys (threatened specie) / Sorprendido por un par de Monos Capuchinos(especie amenazada) [ENG-SPA]

Some time ago I was taking a walk in a park near a friend's house in Puerto Ordaz, a city in the south east of Venezuela, when suddenly I heard a noise accompanied by a movement in the tops of some trees located next to me , and when I stopped I was surprised to see a pair of capuchin monkeys very loose between the branches and with no apparent sign of fear, on the contrary, They seemed very reliant in what appeared to be commonplace to them.

These monkeys of singular color, that inhabit the Venezuelan humid forests, have the reputation of being very intelligent, and unfortunately they are one of the species that suffer the most from the illegal trafficking of wild fauna in my country, often commercialized as pets.

I felt lucky to be able to appreciate wildlife in a natural way, even more in urban contexts, and I did not waste the opportunity to take some photos with my compact camera of these cute mammals.

Hace un tiempo me encontraba dando un paseo en un parque cerca de de la casa de un amigo en Puerto Ordaz, ciudad al sur este de Venezuela, cuando de repente escuche un ruido acompañado de un movimiento en la copa de unos árboles ubicados a mi lado, y cuando me detuve me sorprendí de ver una pareja de monos capuchinos muy desenvueltos entre las ramas y sin aparente muestra de miedo, al contrario, se notaban con mucha seguridad en lo que parecía ser un lugar común para ellos.

Estos monos de singular color, que habitan el las selvas húmedas venezolanas, tienen la fama de ser muy inteligentes, y lamentablemente son una de las especies que más sufren la amenaza del tráfico ilegal de fauna salvaje en mi país, muchas veces comercializados como mascotas.

Me sentí afortunado de poder apreciar de manera natural la fauna silvestre, más aún en contextos urbanos, y no desperdicie la oportunidad para hacer algunas fotos con mi cámara compacta a estos simpáticos mamíferos.
