When the world was new and sprits and men were in constant clash, a scroll believed to be written by Anyanwu (goddess of the sun) was handed down to the people of Umu-anwu(Children of the Sun). In this scroll contained mystical spells to empower the people of Umu-anwu shielding them from the attacks of bad Spirits Ajo mmuo.

These bad spirits have terrorized humans from the beginning the first human was sent down to earth and abandoned by Chukwu(God) the creator of all being. These 'Ajo Mmuo' have destroyed great civilization and small human settlements alike. The destruction of the great city of Idemmili is a story that strikes fear even in the hearts of great warriors like the likes of Agumba and Odum. The Scroll in Umu-anwu became a symbol of power, honour and the identity of the Umu-anwu people. They have been blessed by the gods to ensure the survival of the human race ' Ndi Nzoputa'. They were at the peak of greatness then tragedy struck.
It all began in the early hours of the day, a loud scream was heard from the Palace of The King who is titled after the goddess Anyanwu, the king by tradition is a direct descendants of the goddess. The king was believed to have a direct communication to the goddess and the only one to use the power of the scroll. The screams and wailing by the women and men alike could be held in the neighbouring village, wails of the destruction to come. Instantly the Sun darkened, the people of Umu-anwu were wise enough to know this was not an eclipse but the beginning of the evil that was to come. Umu-anwu was to become another forgotten city like Idemmili. Not the Goddess nor the King could put an end. Ndi Igbo si ukwa ruo oge ya oda the Fall of Umu-anwu has come.
A strong rushing wind swept through the entire village, the screams of humans and animals alike could be heard, the scroll whose powers that was supposed to protect the villagers was no more. People from far and near assembled at the Ulo Arusi (shrine) of the goddess offering sacrifices to avert the danger.

The veil between the bad spirits and the village of Umu-anwu was opened, the rest was history, Umu-anwu has fallen. The Scroll with the divinely touch remained missing.

Greetings my friend @arinzegod12

Interesting story about that mysterious scroll that provided protection to the villagers of Idemmili, allowing destruction in the city.

Thank you for your entry to the contest.

Thanks but the scroll protected the village of Umu-anwu but hopefully I may write on the destruction of Idemmili 😉
