Hiking in the canyon

I went back to the December days of last year, which I spent in Dagestan. During our trip to Dagestan, we visited several canyons. Some canyons are larger than the famous Grand Canyon in Arizona. But today I want to show the canyon near the village of Salta.
Its peculiarity is that it was created by a small river that made a hole in the soil, created a large cave, and then a deep canyon has already turned out. In winter, the river almost disappears and we managed to get inside the cave. The entrance is very complicated, but rope handrails are made for convenience, and a bridge is made along the river.
It seems to me that I have already shown the inner space of this cave. In any case, I am afraid that I will be charged with re-showing, which is prohibited on this site by the rules. Therefore, I will only show the canyon itself from the outside.
Dagestan has become very attractive for tourists after the pandemic, so the Administration of this republic has engaged in the arrangement of tourist attractive areas. First of all, this is necessary for security purposes.

The bright sun in the open space and the darkness among the mountains is a common picture of winter Dagestan. The sun does not rise high even during the day to illuminate the insides of narrow canyons. This creates certain difficulties in photographing from the dark toward bright lighting outside.
We have to use post-processing of the image - to raise the brightness of the dark color and reduce the brightness of the light sky.

The open space of the canyon ends and we go deeper into a narrow passage with the sky already closed. This is starting to remind me of footage from the movie "The Hobbit" or "The Lord of the Rings". Girls begin their most favorite activity - photographing themselves and their friends.
Well, I helped them this time. I must say that on this trip, the girls often asked me to take pictures of them.

This trip was different from all the previous trips of our company in that we were warned in advance about the availability of suitable clothes for hiking in the mountains. It was necessary to have the right shoes and warm comfortable clothes. That's exactly what these girls show.

So, friends, consider this moment if you decide to travel in a mountainous region, especially in winter. It may be warm down in the valley, but in the mountains, the temperature will be much lower.
