Dear friends of Steemit and of this community

In the world many things are going to happen late, saving a life has to be done at the moment, later pardons have no value, the young woman that we will analyze today is a symbol of freedom, in her time it was not valued as such, years later everything she did was understood but it was already too late.

JOAN OF ARC

Joan of Arc or better known as LA DONCELLA DE ORLEANS, was born in DOMREMY IN FRANCE, around 1412, of peasant origin, is considered today as a French heroine for the enormous and decisive role played in the so-called Hundred Years' War, apparently since she was a child she had apocalyptic visions and also others where the Archangel Michael and Saint Margaret told her that she was the instrument to liberate France.

When this reached the ears of Charles VII, who was not yet king, he sent her to besiege Orleans and she with an army liberated the region in only 9 days, this opened the possibility that the king was crowned.

Unfortunately, soon after Joan was betrayed by some Frenchmen, captured and delivered to Bishop Pierre Cauchon, she was judged and sentenced to death. It was Duke John of Bedford who was in charge of burning her alive at the stake on May 30, 1431 when she was only 19 years old.

In 1456 Pope Calixtus III, examined the trial and discovered that the maiden was innocent, naming her martyr, in 1920 she was canonized, being today one of the 9 patrons of France. Unfortunately, her heroism and her fight for freedom were recognized too late, in fact the paintings and sculptures that symbolize the goddess liberty are inspired by this young woman who led a people to victory.

De Lakrua painted Marianne

Greetings, yes you are right, it is a pictorial image of the XXI century, it is very difficult to find free images of it. I placed it as a representation of freedom. Thank you for commenting
