Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos / #club100
Hello Friends!!!
Today I will share photos that I took in an old and beautiful church in the village of Voskresenskoye in the Moscow region
I periodically photograph baptismal ceremonies for children or weddings for adults in churches. I like to look at the decoration and elements of the interior decor. They are often old, although sometimes they are new after reconstruction. In My photos I want to show that this temple is old, which is confirmed by the official website, because during the Soviet period it was not broken or rebuilt.
The history of the Intercession Church in the village of Voskresenskoye dates back to the beginning of the XVII century.
In 1634, a wooden church was erected in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.
In 1705, the church burned down from a lightning strike. Some icons and carved sculptures of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Paraskeva were saved from the fire.
In 1706, a new wooden church was built on the site of the burnt one, which acted as a summer church, and services were held in it from Easter to the Assumption.
In 1833-1848, a new stone church was built, consecrated in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, and the old wooden church was re-consecrated as the Ascension.

@alexey1976 What a history of that church the fact that they did not destroy it and remodel it makes it more interesting, it is beautiful I imagine that it must be an icon for that city and tourists must abound to reach them, some photographs of baptism or marriages. Greetings and blessings.
Thank you for such kind words! This church is constantly visited by a lot of people, especially on holidays!
Despite the fact that these historical buildings were built many years ago, there is a high quality workmanship. We have seen an example here, too.
Yes, I notice that the most beautiful and reliable buildings used to be built all over the world, which have been standing for hundreds of years and delight us
