Hi steemains, hope you all are good and enjoying your lives. Today's topic is important for knowing all of us as this problem increases day by day mainly because of lifestyle that we have adopted and the food that we are taking.
Before starting first you should know about the Triglycerides, cholesterol and their role in your health.


What are Triglycerides?


A type of fat (lipid) found in your blood are Triglycerides.

When you eat you get calories and your body converts extra calories into Triglycerides that it doesn't need to use right away.

If you are taking more calories than you burn, you may have hypertriglyceridemia.

Triglycerides and cholesterol are different types of lipids that circulate in your blood

Triglycerides store unused calories of body and give your body energy with time. To build cells and certain hormones cholesterol is used.


Effects of high Triglycerides on health:


  • It may involve in thickening of the artery walls that increases the risk of stroke, heart attack and heart disease.

  • High triglycerides can also be a sign of

  • 1. you may be haveType 2 diabetes or prediabetes

  • 2. you may have Metabolic syndrome — a condition having high BP , obesity and high blood sugar all together, increasing your risk of heart disease.

  • you have Low levels of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism)

Exercise regularly:


Regular exercise can reduce triglycerides and increase "good" cholesterol. You should also try to incorporate more physical activity into your daily routine tasks such as climb the stairs instead of using elevator, take a walk during work break.


cut down sugar and refined carbohydrates:


Simple carbohydrates, likesugar and refined carb, can increase triglycerides.


Eat more fiber :


Fiber can be get from the fruits, vegetables and whole grain nut, their enough use can reduce the Triglycerides in blood.


Lose weight:


If you take less calories then no storage of excess calories in term of fats. Reducing your calories will reduce triglycerides.


Avoid saturated and trans fats :


You should choose healthier fats. Avoid trans fats or foods with hydrogenated oils or fats.Use of these trans fat and unsaturated fats increases the lipid amount in the blood.

Fatty fish contain omega 3 fatty acid. their use twice per week reduces the heart disease by lowering the triglycerides from blood.


Avoid alcohol :


Alcohol has high amount of sugar and calories and has a great effect on Triglycerides. It's use increase the Triglycerides in blood. If you have hypertriglyceridemia, avoid drinking alcohol.


Concerning to doctor :


You should concern to doctor when you have high lipids in blood. If healthy lifestyle modification aren't enough to control high triglycerides, your doctor might recommend you some medicine to cure it.
