¡Hello Everyone !

This week the @healthrepublic Community offers us an important contest topic, for our health, How to Clear Triglycerides and Cholesterol Naturally?

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of mortality; the risk of dying from heart attack is greater than that of dying from cancer. And high cholesterol and triglycerides are a risk factor.

Bad eating habits, a diet rich in fried foods, flours and sugars and the lack of exercise, potentially affect the increase in the levels of Cholesterol and Triglycerides in the body.

This Contest allows us to learn about these, as well as the natural alternatives that exist to control cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

¿Why Cholesterol and Triglycerides are Important in the Body?

Simply put, these two types of lipids are an important measure of heart and artery health.

¿What is Cholesterol?

Cholesterol is an essential molecule that is part of the group of lipids or fats, of the membranes of our cells and necessary for the formation of hormones, metabolism of vitamin D, essential for the absorption of calcium and bile acids.

Hy

Types of Cholesterol

  • LDL levels: LDL, also known as "bad" cholesterol, is the main cause of blockages in the arteries.

  • HDL levels: HDL, considered the "good" cholesterol, helps eliminate "bad" cholesterol or cholesterol.

  • LDL Total cholesterol: The total amount of low-density lipoproteins (LDL cholesterol) and high-density lipoproteins (HDL cholesterol) in the blood.

¿What are Triglycerides?

Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in the blood. The body converts all the calories that you don't need to use right away into triglycerides. Triglycerides are stored in fat cells. Later, the hormones release triglycerides for energy between meals.

What is the difference between triglycerides and cholesterol?

Triglycerides and cholesterol are different types of lipids that circulate in the blood: Triglycerides store unused calories and provide energy to the body Cholesterol is used to build cells and certain hormones.

What happens if we have high Cholesterol and / or Triglycerides?

High cholesterol and triglycerides can cause a dangerous buildup of cholesterol and other deposits on the walls of the arteries (atherosclerosis). These deposits (plaques) can reduce blood flow through your arteries, which can lead to complications such as: Chest pain, Heart attack, Stroke, and heart disease.

How can we maintain normal cholesterol and triglyceride values in our body?

  • Follow a low-salt diet.
  • That emphasizes the consumption of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
  • Avoid the consumption of simple sugars (sugar, sugary drinks, carbonated soft drinks, ice cream.
  • Limit the amount of animal fats and use good fats in moderation.
  • Lose Weight and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Give up smoking.
  • Exercise most days of the week for at least thirty minutes.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol.
  • Controlling stress.

What should I do if I have high cholesterol and triglycerides?

We must consume foods rich in Fiber and Omega 3 fatty acids. Among these are:

-Oatmeal:
Oats contain soluble fiber, which reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, the "bad" cholesterol.

Soluble fiber can reduce the absorption of cholesterol into the bloodstream. 5 to 10 grams or more of soluble fiber a day lowers LDL cholesterol.

  • Soluble fiber is also found in foods like beans, Brussels sprouts, apples, and pears..
  • Fish
The highest levels of omega-3 fatty acids are found in the following fish:

Mackerel
Herring
Tuna
Salmon
Trout

  • Foods like walnuts, flaxseed, and canola oil also have small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Avocados
Avocados are a powerful source of nutrients, as well as monounsaturated fatty acids (MFA). Research suggests that adding an avocado a day to a heart-healthy diet can help improve LDL cholesterol levels in people who are overweight or obese.

Home remedies are another alternative to lower triglycerides and cholesterol are usually rich in antioxidants and soluble fibers mainly, these are two important components that prevent and reduce the accumulation of fat in the body.

Among the most common home remedies, we can mention:

  • Pineapple juice and orange bagasse.
  • Oatmeal water with cinnamon.
  • Beet juice with apple.
  • Turmeric tea.
  • Garlic water.
  • Apple vinager.

My father usually drinks Eggplant Shell Water to lower his cholesterol levels, so it is something I recommend.

In addition to promoting intestinal transit and helping us fight constipation, or prevent its appearance, this component has the ability to reduce bad cholesterol levels.

Preparing this home remedy is very easy. You only have to place the shell of four aubergines in a liter of water.
On an empty stomach you should drink a glass of this water.

Regular exercise tends to lower LDL-cholesterol and increase HDL, as well as helping to lower Triglyceride values. Therefore, it is good to advise the practice of moderate physical activity adapted to individual capacities.

That is why exercising is effective in lowering cholesterol and triglyceride levels. And it should be practiced regularly.
