The Best Recipe For Heart Pressure || Omnivorous dish based on DASH diet

Hello everyone! Before starting I want to thanks to @dobartim for bringing us this wonderful contest where we can share our knowledge and also learn from others members to improve our health.


This week's theme is “The Best Recipe For Heart Pressure”. After thinking about how to share information it be easy to remember and you can apply at home, I came to conclusion of bringing you a short guide on how you can build your food’s dish to improve heart health and have good blood pressure. This dish is based on the DASH diet, is low in salt and high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension


Before we start to build our dish, let's see the types of Heart Pressure:

Normal PressureHigh PressureLow Pressure
A normal blood pressure is when your blood pressure is less than 120/80 mm Hg most of the time.It is the most common and the one we will focus today. High blood pressure (hypertension) is when one or both of your blood pressure numbers are greater than 130/80 mm Hg most of the timeAbnormally low blood pressure (hypotension) can cause dizziness and fainting. In severe cases, low blood pressure can be life threatening.

So what can we do to lower blood pressure and improve health at the same time?

All we have to do is make sure to include a serving of veggies, tubers, protein, cereals and good fats, as simple as that. In the image below I show you how to build your dish.

How to understand and create your Meal:

To create your healthy plate to improve or regulate your heart pressure, you just have to choose and combine the foods you most like from the different parts of the plate (cereals, veggies, proteins and good fats) and start cooking to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal.

Fruits help improve heart pressure thanks to their potassium content. The consumption of fruits provides to our organism the amount of potassium we need to avoid its deficiency and maintain a good pressure of the heart and avoid complications. You can accompany it with low-fat dairy in the form of a shake to vary the preparations and maintain a good supply of calcium and vitamin D


  • Reduce your sodium or salt and highly processed foods intake

Sodium plays an important role in controlling pressure in the heart. Its high consumption leads to worsening symptoms of hypertension and appearance of complications, which worsens state of health.
