Unforgettable Italy Week 21 - Piazza del Popolo

Hello Italy Community! For week 21 of the Unforgettable Italy contest proposed by @girolamomarotta, I present to you a picture I took on my trip to Rome some years ago, it's about Piazza del Popolo seen from the Pincio hill. I remember that it was the second day of my tour of the eternal city, the first day had been exhausting, because of the long hours of travel, and I had not really had the opportunity to see many things.

This famous square, with its imposing Flaminio Obelisk in the center, had a very lively atmosphere, amongst people sightseeing and city dwellers passing by on their way home or to work. Among the monuments and sites of interest in the immediate vicinity of the square there are the Basilica of Santa Maria del Popolo, located next to the Porta del Popolo, the twin churches of Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli, the Fountain of Neptune and the Fountain of the Goddess Rome, right in front of the Pincio terrace.

From the Pincio Hill the view is extraordinary, as you can appreciate the square in all its splendor, as well as other points of the city in the middle distance. During my visit, I took the time to enjoy this amazing place and allowed myself to reflect on how blessed I was to be there, trying to interact a bit with the rich and extensive Roman culture and history.
