Il 21 Aprile è l'Anniversario della fondazione di Roma avvenuta nel 753 a.c. da parte di Romolo.

Come ogni anno la città eterna si prepara a festeggiare questa ricorrenza con eventi importanti, a cui tutti possono partecipare cittadini e turisti, per apprezzare Roma in tutta la sua bellezza!

Per cominciare tutti i Musei Civici di Roma Capitale e l'area archeologica del Circo Massimo saranno gratuiti, sia le mostre permanenti che quelle temporanee e sarà possibile partecipare alle visite guidate dedicate a questo evento.

La novità di questo compleanno è l'esposizione per la prima volta ai Musei Capitolini , di un reperto straordinario in vetro dorato raffigurante la Dea Roma, da poco rinvenuto durante gli scavi per la metropolitana, che risale al IV secolo durante il periodo imperiale.

E' un reperto unico nel suo genere perchè rappresenta Roma in veste di dea, realizzato su vetro in foglia d'oro. E proprio questa immagine sarà usata per la Medaglia Commemorativa realizzata dalla Zecca dello Stato.

Tra gli eventi più belli e affascinanti da vedere c'è il gioco di luce dell'oculus del Pantheon, ogni 21 Aprile alle 12.00 esatte i raggi di sole entrano dall'oculus e irradiano con un fascio di luce il portone di bronzo, un evento progettato da Agrippa nel 27 a.c. per esaltare l'entrata dell'imperatore.

Poi immancabile saranno al Circo Massimo le rievocazioni storiche, a cura del Gruppo Storico Romano, che daranno vita alla quotidianità dell'Antica Roma, con rappresentazioni di antichi riti, lotte tra gladiatori e tanto altro, fino a concludere domenica con un grande corteo storico a cui parteciperanno circa 2500 rievocatori in costume!

Sempre in questo giorno riapre il Roseto Comunale di Roma, sempre gratuito che si trova sulle pendici dell'Aventino ed ospita oltre 1.100 varietà di rose botaniche, antiche e moderne provenienti da tutto il Mondo, oltre ad alcuni esemplari di Rose Primordiali risalenti a 40 milioni di anni fa!

Di cose da fare e vedere ce ne saranno tantissime, e chiunque si trovasse da queste parti da domani fino a domenica potrà partecipare ad una grande festa collettiva per festeggiare un altro anno di questa splendida città!

Do you know Rome's Christmas?

April 21st is the Anniversary of the founding of Rome in 753 BC by Romulus.

Like every year, the eternal city prepares to celebrate this anniversary with important events, in which all citizens and tourists can participate, to appreciate Rome in all its beauty!

To begin with, all the Civic Museums of Roma Capitale and the archaeological area of the Circus Maximus will be free of charge, both permanent and temporary exhibitions, and it will be possible to participate in guided tours dedicated to this event.

The novelty of this birthday is the exhibition, for the first time at the Capitoline Museums, of an extraordinary golden glass artefact depicting the Goddess Rome, recently found during excavations for the underground, which dates back to the 4th century during the imperial period.

It is a unique find because it depicts Rome in the guise of a goddess, made on gold leaf glass. And it is precisely this image that will be used for the Commemorative Medal produced by the State Mint.

Among the most beautiful and fascinating events to be seen is the play of light of the Pantheon's oculus, every 21 April at exactly 12 noon the rays of the sun enter from the oculus and irradiate the bronze doorway with a beam of light, an event designed by Agrippa in 27 BC to exalt the emperor's entrance.

Then unmissable will be the historical re-enactments at the Circus Maximus, organised by the Roman Historical Group, which will bring to life the daily life of Ancient Rome, with representations of ancient rituals, gladiator fights, and much more, until concluding on Sunday with a great historical procession in which some 2500 costumed re-enactors will participate!

Also on this day, the free Municipal Rose Garden of Rome reopens. It is located on the slopes of the Aventine Hill and hosts more than 1,100 varieties of botanical, ancient and modern roses from all over the world, as well as some specimens of Primordial Roses dating back 40 million years!
