Hello Steemit community, I am happy to take part in the new contest and to do so by telling you about a well-known, loved and appreciated city, of which I can perhaps tell you some interesting details having spent there many years as a university student in it.

How to reach Pisa:

• Plane: the Pisa airport is about 15 minutes from the city of Pisa, and is well connected to it by train, bus or taxi.
• Train: in Pisa there are two railway stations: Pisa Centrale and Pisa San Rossore; the central station is better connected and perfect for taking a complete panoramic tour of Pisa (in 5-10 minutes you reach the heart of Pisa, and in half an hour at a fast pace you arrive at Piazza dei Miracoli). The San Rossore station, consisting of very few tracks, is a few meters from the Faculty of Engineering, Medicine, and 5 minutes from Piazza dei Miracoli.
• Car: for those who prefer to travel by car, Pisa is also easily accessible by car, but keep in mind that the historic center is not accessible by car at certain times of the year, so it is advisable to park outside it.
  Pro tips: near the Faculty of Engineering there are several car parks, paid but with more accessible prices than other areas.

Places to see & where to eat
Pisa is a concentrate of wonders, which makes it perfect for short trips, in fact in one day you are able to admire its main attractions and do it by moving on foot. Obviously, having more time at your disposal allows you to experience it more fully and also to do some tour of interesting museums in it.

• Piazza dei Miracoli and the Tower of Pisa
  Undoubtedly the most iconic, known and photographed place in Pisa, and certainly an essential place for those traveling in the center of Tuscany.
  In the famous Piazza dei Miracoli there is not only the Tower of Pisa, but also the splendid Duomo, the Baptistery and the monumental cemetery. In addition to admiring them from the outside, the more passionate can also - by paying a ticket - climb the Leaning Tower and visit the other monuments. The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie are also beautiful, a building whose restoration was completed a few years ago.

Pro Tip: Piazza dei Miracoli can also be admired from above some buildings around it, not necessarily at excessive prices. From the terrace of the Grand Hotel Duomo, for example, it is possible for the modest sum of 10 euros to have an aperitif (ie a drink with appetizers to eat before dinner) while enjoying the view of the pizza from above.

• Santa Maria street
  It takes you from Piazza dei Miracoli towards the Lungarno, it is a street full of shops and restaurants, generally frequented by many tourists. Leaving Piazza dei Miracoli behind, you reach a more university area, and in particular I cannot fail to mention ** Piazza Dante**, which is overlooked by numerous university faculties, where you can find numerous copy shops, bars and cheap restaurants but excellent.
  Pro Tip: In the vicinity of via Santa Maria, moving away from the center, the Museum of ancient ships of Pisa has opened to the public, where it is possible to admire ancient Pisan boats.

• Piazza dei Cavalieri
  A few steps from the Piazza dei Miracoli we find another gem, the Piazza dei Cavalieri, where you can admire the ancient building where the Scuola Normale Superiore, established in 1810, is now located.
  Here is also the church of Santo Stefano, usually open in the morning.

• Borgo Stretto literally "narrow borgo"
  It connects the area of ​​Piazza dei Cavalieri to the Lungarno; before going through the narrow Borgo area, I recommend that you make a detour to Piazza Martiri della Libertà, a very large square with lots of greenery where the University of Sant'Anna is also located. The church of Santa Caterina, at the end of the square, is usually open in the morning and its bare majesty is worth a visit.

Going back to talking about Borgo Stretto, it is a typical district of Pisa. where it is possible to find both prestigious shops and the food market of Piazza delle Vettovaglie (a square that in the evening turns into a typical evening entertainment venue, with numerous pubs and always crowded with people).
Continuing along the main road you reach the Lungarno and the Ponte di Mezzo.

• Lungarno and the Ponte di Mezzo
  This area is beautiful and full of points of interest on both sides, in particular:
  The church of Santa Maria della Spina, a small church built on the same walls as the embankment.
  Tip for gourmands: De 'Coltelli ice cream maker, one of the best ice cream parlors in Italy.
  Advice for health-conscious: the Insalateria, a place where you can eat fresh salads made to your liking.
  Tip for museum lovers: the Palazzo Blu, where in addition to the permanent exhibition it offers temporary exhibitions that are always very beautiful and well arranged, usually takes place during the winter-spring period.
  Tip for the evening life: near the Ponte di Mezzo there is Bazar, a place where you can have a few drinks, eat something, and at the weekend find some music to dance. In general, however, the whole Lungarno in the evening becomes a place full of small pubs and where many spend their time chatting and strolling back and forth. Also highly recommended is the Chupiteria, a place specializing in chupiti to be thrown down in one sip, they have a practically infinite menu, offer enormous care and above all have very low prices.

• The other side of the Arno: Corso Italia
  Another important street full of shops, connects the Lungarno to Piazza Vittorio Emanuale recently redone, and further down to Pisa Central Station.
  On the left side (coming from the Ponte di Mezzo) after a few meters there is a square that is a gem, Piazza della Pera, where there is an excellent Indian restaurant, and not far away also a fabulous Lebanese Syrian restaurant for lovers of ethnic food. Otherwise in one of the small streets in its vicinity there is also the Osteria Micheletti, which cooks excellent typical dishes at reasonable prices.

I can't recommend places to stay because I've always slept with friends in Pisa, but I know that there are numerous hotels and airbnbs at valid prices in fairly central areas or near the walls, you will have no problem finding some nice corner suitable for you!

Prices
Visiting Pisa is not necessarily very expensive, especially for a quick trip without staying and without going to museums.
As for meals, it is possible to find numerous places to eat wraps, sandwiches, salads or first courses quickly and at low prices, or find cafes that serve you very well with 25 euros per person. Of course there are also many places that are extremely more expensive and fanciful, for those who want to get rid of a few vices in comfort, around Piazza dei Miracoli in particular there are numerous very good restaurants.
The costs of the museums vary a lot between them, but they are all generally around 10 euros and never above 20.

LAST ADVICE
Consider coming to Pisa for San Ranieri on June 16th. In fact, on this evening Pisa surrounds itself with lights that light up the night; wonderful fireworks are launched, and the atmosphere is festive everywhere. Especially a feast for the eyes.

NB: as you could see, I wrote this post without wanting to think about the covid, therefore I have recommended places suitable for the pre covid normality. I did it in the hope that we can return to that normality soon.

Salve community di Steemit, sono felice di prendere parte al questo nuovo contest e di farlo parlandovi di una città ben conosciuta, amata e apprezzata, della quale posso forse dirvi qualche dettaglio interessante avendoci passato lunghi anni da studente universitario.

Come arrivare:

• Aereo: l'areoporto di Pisa dista circa 15 minuti dalla città di Pisa stessa, ed è ben collegato ad essa da treni, autobus o taxy.
• Treno: a Pisa sono presenti due stazioni ferroviarie: Pisa Centrale e Pisa San Rossore;
  la stazione centrale, è collegata meglio e perfetta per farsi un giro panoramico completo di Pisa stessa (in 5-10 minuti si giunge nel cuore di Pisa, ed in una mezz'oretta a passo veloce d a Piazza dei Miracoli). La stazione di San Rossore, composta da pochissimi binari, è a pochi metri dalla facoltà di Ingegneria, di Medicina, ed a 5 minuti da Piazza dei Miracoli.
• Macchina: per chi preferisce muoversi in macchina, Pisa è facilmente raggiungibile anche in macchina, ma tenete conto che il centro storico non è percorribile in auto in alcuni periodo dell'anno, conviene dunque parcheggiare fuori da esso. Pro tips: vicino alla facoltà di Ingegneria ci sono svariati parcheggi, a pagamento ma con prezzi più accessibili di altre zone.

Cosa vedere & dove mangiare

Pisa è un concentrato di meraviglie, ciò la rende perfetta per brevi viaggi, infatti in un giorno si è in grado di ammirare le sue principali attrazioni e di farlo muovendosi a piedi. Ovviamente, avere più tempo a disposizione permette di viversela più a pieno e di fare anche qualche giro di interessanti musei in essa presenti.

• Piazza dei Miracoli e la Torre di Pisa
  Senz'altro il luogo più iconico, conosciuto e fotografato di Pisa, e senz'altro un luogo imprescindibile da chi viaggia nel centro della Toscana.
  Nella famosa Piazza dei Miracoli non vi è soltanto la Torre di Pisa, ma anche lo splendido Duomo, il Battistero e il camposanto monumentale. Oltre ad ammirarle da fuori, i più appassionati possono anche – pagando un ticket – salire sulla Torre Pendente e visitare gli altri monumenti. Bellissimo anche il Museo dell'Opera del Duomo e il Museo delle Sinopie, edificio il cui restauro è terminato da pochi anni.

Pro Tip:la Piazza dei Miracoli può essere ammirata dall'alto anche di alcuni edifici nei dintorni di essa, non necessariamente a prezzi eccessivi. Dalla terrazza del Grand Hotel Duomo è ad esempio possibile alla modica cifra di 10 euro fare un aperitivo (ossia un drink con degli stuzzichini da mangiare prima di cena) godendosi la vista della pizza dall'alto.

• Via Santa Maria
  Porta da Piazza dei Miracoli verso il lungarno, è una via ricca di negozi e ristoranti, generalmente frequentata da numerosi turisti. Lasciandosi alle spalle la Piazza dei Miracoli, si raggiunge una zona più universitaria, ed in particolar modo non posso non menzionarvi Piazza Dante, su cui si affacciano numerose facoltà universitarie, in cui è possibile trovare numerose copisterie, bar e locali a prezzi modici (da studenti) ma ottimi.
  Pro Tip: Nelle vicinanze di via Santa Maria, allontanandosi dal centro, ha aperto al pubblico il Museo delle navi antiche di Pisa, in cui è possibile ammirare antichissime imbarcazioni pisane.

Piazza dei Cavalieri
A pochi passi dalla Piazza dei Miracoli troviamo un'altra chicca, la piazza dei Cavalieri, dove è possibile ammirare l'antico edificio in cui oggi ha sede la Scuola Normale Superiore, istituita nel 1810.
Qui si trova anche la chiesa di Santo Stefano, solitamente aperta di mattina.

Borgo Stretto
Congiunge la zona di Piazza dei Cavalieri al lungarno; prima di percorrere la zona del Borgo stretto, vi consiglio di fare una deviazione verso Piazza Martiri della Libertà, una piazza molto grande con molto verde in cui ha sede anche l'Università del Sant'Anna. La chiesa di Santa Caterina, in fondo alla piazza, è solitamente aperta al mattino e la sua maestosità spoglia merita una visita.

Tornando a Borgo Stretto, si tratta di un quartiere tipico di Pisa. dove è possibile trovare sia negozi di prestigio che il mercato alimentare di Piazza delle Vettovaglie (quest'ultimo la sera si trasforma in un tipico luogo di divertimento serale, con numerosi pub e sempre gremito di gente).
Proseguendo per la strada principale si raggiunge il lungarno e il Ponte di Mezzo.

Lungarno e il Ponte di Mezzo
Questa zona è bellissima e ricca di punti d'interesse da entrambi i lati, in particolare:
La chiesta di Santa Maria della Spina, una piccola chiesa costruita sulle stesse mura dell'argine.
Consiglio per i golosi: la gelateria De' Coltelli, una delle gelaterie più buone di tutta Italia.
Consiglio per i salutisti: l'insalateria, locale in cui è possibile mangiare fresche insalate composte a proprio piacimento.
Consiglio per gli amanti dei musei: il Palazzo Blu, dove oltre alla mostra permanente offre nei periodi invernali delle mostre temporanee sempre molto belle e ben disposte.
Consiglio per la vita serale: vicino al Ponte di Mezzo c'è il Bazar, locale in cui è possibile bere qualche drink, mangiare qualcosa, e nel weekend trovare un po' di musica per ballare. In generale comunque tutto il lungarno di sera diviene un luogo ricco di piccoli pub e dove in molti passano il tempo chiacchierando e passeggiando avanti e indietro. Consigliatissimo anche la chupiteria, locale specializzato nei chupiti da buttar giù d'un sorso, hanno un menù praticamente infinito, offrono una cura enorme e soprattutto hanno dei prezzi bassissimi.

L'altro lato dell'Arno: Corso Italia
Altra via ricca di negozi perfetti per lo shopping, congiunge il Lungarno a Piazza Vittorio Emanuale recentemente rifatta, e più in giù alla Stazione Centrale di Pisa.
Sul lato sinixtro (venendo dal Ponte di Mezzo) si trova dopo pochi metri una piazza che è una chicca, Piazza della Pera, dove si trova un ottimo ristorante indiano, e non molto lontano anche un favoloso ristorante Siriano Libanese per gli amanti del cibo etnico. Altrimenti in una delle stradine nelle sue vicinanze si trova anche l'Osteria Micheletti, che cucina ottimi piatti tipici a prezzi modici.

Non so consigliarvi luoghi in cui soggiornare perché ho sempre dormito a Pisa da amici, però so che sono numerosi gli hotel e gli airbnb a prezzi validi in zone abbastanza centrali o nei pressi delle mura, non avrete problemi a trovare qualche bell'angoletto adatto a voi!

Prezzi
Visitare Pisa non è necessariamento molto costoso, soprattutto per un viaggio veloce senza soggiornare e senza andare nei musei.
Per quanto riguarda i pasti, è possibile trovare numerosi posti in cui mangiare piadine, panini, insallate o primi velocemente ed a prezzi bassi, o trovare localini che con 25 euro a persona ti servono molto bene. Certo ci sono anche molti luoghi estremamente più cari e sfiziosi, per chi desidera togliersi qualche vizio in comodità, intorno a piazza dei Miracoli in particolar modo sono numerosi i ristoranti molto buoni.
I costi dei musei cambiano molto tra di loro, ma sono tutti generalmente intorno ai 10 euro e mai sopra i 20.

ULTIMO CONSIGLIO
Prendete in considerazione di venire a Pisa per San Ranieri, il 16 Giugno. In questa sera infatti Pisa si circonda di lumini che rischiarano la notte; vengono lanciati dei meravigliosi fuochi di artificio, e il clima e ovunque di festa. Soprattutto di festa per gli occhi

NB: come avete potuto vedere, ho scritto questo post senza voler pensare al covid, di conseguenza ho consigliato luoghi adatti alla normalità pre covid. Lo ho fatto nella speranza che si possa tornare presto a quella normalità.
